Cars have had speed governors for 30+ years and since I think 2016 they have had black boxes that record everything you do while driving.

Since 2006 all cars sold in the US must be equipped with black boxes that record everything, AND a cellular modem to send that data to both the manufacturer and the government.

I thought that didn't come about until 2016
