Pretty much everyone they don't like is painted as a Putin pawn though, when in reality most of those people are just independent actors who are prepared to give Russia a hearing.

Remember Trump and Boris Johnson were also supposed to be Putin's puppets. Well now Boris is walking the streets of Kiev arm in arm with Zelensky.

In France it was actually the far left leader who was most in bed with Putin and he has lost votes because of that which then went to Le Pen. That wouldn't have happened if anyone really believed she was also being controlled by the same man.

Yes - though Trump is definitely a Putin puppet, thanks to the payment of his $400 m debt with Deutsche Bank by Putin's cronies, and additional bribes for Trump and other politicians. Money in politics is the problem, and Le Pen is one of the worst authoritarian supporters of this corrupt system. Boris and his cronies are also getting similar financial support, as you must be very well aware. Consider how long it took to freeze Russian accounts in the UK. At issue in this case - re. Le Pen - is not who is freaking out, but who is in this network of money laundering authoritarians who are buying politicians, and how much you and I will continue to pay for it. Saiditors need to get to grips with that conspiracy, rather than get distracted by the misleading right-wing propaganda.

What I see is worry that the people in charge are losing support. Interesting how it's framed as such an obviously bad thing by the press.

That headline is pure lies with a calculated effect to make the reader believe a certain way.

Voting against a guy who says you have no right to defend yourself has nothing to do with Putin or Russia.

I’d say this is more European politics than anything to do with Russia. Pen isn’t pro EU and that isn’t tolerated in the power crazed EU.

Whatever your political leanings, recognises spin when you read it.

I’m not a fan of Pen, personally I think she’s to nationalistic for my taste. But by no means is she a budding Nazi. Her Dad perhaps…. Macron… I also think is a bit of a dick. Last week ish… he said he doesn’t believe in the right to self defence. This came off a farmer that shot one of 4 burglars that tried to do burglary naughtyness. He had a 3 year old in the house at the time. Now I’m sure it’s more complex than that, these things normally are. However to come out and blankety say I don’t believe in the right to self defence, the police should be dealing with such things. Is just simple lunacy.
