Phrasing it that way (instead of something like "to the last man") really makes it sound like giving Russia a goal to kill every Ukrainian and then everyone will let them keep the country.

It's a sarcastic title meant to imply that the US will use Ukrainians as expendable cannon fodder against Russia without getting directly involved—not that I want the US to get directly involved as that would likely result in the end of the world.

Ha, yeah pretty much.

We thought we could bribe the Ukrainians into joining NATO in order to screw over Russia, and we bet Ukrainian lives on it.
