The real reason for inequality in the US is the one all the Social Justice movements ignore. The corporate and government dominated workplaces that segregate employees based on college degree vs no collage degree.

All those who have the wealth in their families that afforded them a college degree are pretty much guarenteed that golden ticket to a life of management level jobs with middle class salaried incomes, healthcare and retirement plans, paid vacation and sick benefits.

All those who did not have that wealth based red carpet through college are excluded. Their highschool level education denies them access to salaried jobs and condemns them to a life of hourly paid low income jobs with no benefits and close to zero opportunities for promotion. Job skills and experience are irrelevent and worthless in the American workplace hierarchy. The only thing thing has any value is the college degree that their families could not afford.

Everyone who has analysed this system knows it is legacy to the days of racial segregation when whites all afforded college and blacks did not. It ensured those college educated whites dominated society and the workplace with all the management jobs, the middle class wealth, the home ownership and the college funds for their kids, while highschool educated blacks provided the cheap hourly paid labor with no benefits and lived in poorly maintained, rented homes in ghetto neighborhoods owned by whites.

That is how the American system still operates to suppress an entire class of people which are no longer just the blacks, it now includes people of all races that came from low income backgrounds but just as it used to work to suppress black America it still has the same perpetuated generational effect on everyone that are members of todays working class. They all work to provide the profits that pay for the lifestyles of a privileged, college educated management class who gleefully delude themselves into believing their college degree means they are actually better people than the hourly paid employees who do the lions share of the work for a fraction of their income.

That is the system of income segregation that needs to be dismantled.
