There's a whole lot of people in America who don't usually vote.

A lot of them came out for Trump. A different lot came out for Obama.

They vote for certain personalities or policies not parties.

You'll need another Trump or someone as charismatic to get them interested in politics again.

You are right about this, but I would also add that hatred of Trump seemed to drive Democrat turn out despite the lack of Biden's charisma

and trump was only popular among conservatives because he annoyed democrats, they thought that must mean he's good, usually regular politicians like mitch mcconnell are too weak and compliant to dems, no fight. Of course then trump became prez and sold out, so it was just a facade. Mean tweets are nice but where is that promised wall?

Yeah I think there is something to that. I also think because he wasn't a normal politician and said he was gonna 'drain the swamp' had something to do with it. People on both sides think the establishment is corrupt. The leftists voted for Bernie for very similar reasons that rights voted Trump - a populist message that the establishment is corrupt, and they will fix it. I bought into this from Bernie and voted for him, although he showed his true colors by staying silent while Big Pharma, that he said is evil, lied to us once again.

pelosi was the first one I remember saying she would drain the swamp, politically speaking. I'm sure it was around before that, good catch phrase. I'm still waiting for any politician to ever keep their campaign promises. Bernie would have sold out too.

🤣hilarious, Pelosi is literally the Swamp Thing

Bernie would have sold out too.

Yes he would've, I am angry at myself for trusting him, he really had me convinced he would stand up to Big Pharma and the Elites, but I think he was sheepdogging for the DNC to increase engagement among people like me who wouldn't wanna vote for Biden, then hit us with the bait and switch, and say oh now you gotta vote for Biden, or else Evil The Donald is gonna destroy the world. I didn't fall all the way for it and vote Biden, but Bernie did have me fooled

I really don't trust anyone, but I used to think "well you can't say all politicians are bad, maybe it's 99% but there still exists the chance an honest and good man would not sell out"

But we keep seeing this same thing time and again. I'm sure they read machiavelli and use it to gain power otherwise they wouldn't be where they are. I remember seeing a report Bernie wrote an article in college about how women enjoy being raped, which is sad but true and must have come from the mind of a person that understands the reality of the world which is harsh.
