The fact that you call Trump supporters fanatics indicates that you are entrenched in leftist propaganda. The world won't make sense until you let go of the identitarian mentality.

No, I said the Trump fanatics are the only people still associated with "conservative". Everyone else seems to have left. I'm well aware that there are far more people who support Trump than the fanatics.

That just doesn't make any sense to me. How have conservatives left? What does that even mean?

Anyone who values personal freedom, responsibility, autonomy, and self determination is a conservative. They are called individualists. All the policies they advocate for are based on that foundation.

Anyone who values obedience, uniformity, collective action, group destiny, is a liberal. They are called collectivist. All the policies they advocate for are based on that foundation.

I don't see how either of those have changed much.

Maybe you have a weird definition of conservative. If that is the case I'd be interested to hear what it is.

You're still living in the past like me then. My definitions are the same as yours. But if you take a look around, everyone elses' has completely changed. And as for the GOP, it doesn't really have a platform anymore other than catch-all "not Democrat". There's the liberal Democrats and everyone else is the Republicans. There's really no talk of "independents" anymore because that's basically what the GOP is now.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, but what worries me is that a very authoritarian "anti-liberalism" has become popular in conservatism's place for many. How they could flip flop on their values so quickly I don't know, but I guess humans are easily taken over by hatred. A few of them seem willing to create a Nazi dictatorship against their own beliefs purely for the petty sake of pissing off liberals (ironic because in all but name it's closer to the latter's agenda). That is, if they still have beliefs at all. And you can't try to reason with either of them because they both just accuse you of being the other one and dismiss you as an enemy. And if either of them wins, brace yourself for a dictatorship.

American classical liberals and conservatives are now hold the most universally rejected ideology by the masses. To the liberals fascists and to the new right liberals. What was once central to America is now the scum of the Earth.

Only 2 years ago we'd have never dreamed of this.

I feel like they suddenly disappeared in 2020 and I haven't seen any since

And thats because most of them were deplatformed by big tech. Their voices were silenced.

Conservatives got 'radicalised' after the BLM and Antifa riots in the summer of 2020. When they rioted in dozens of major citys and caused billions in damages, without any criticism from the media or politicians.

It happened in real life and conservative-leaning media as well.

That's my hunch too. I wonder if it was all set up for that very purpose.
