state laws requiring voter ID or banning mass mailing of absentee ballots amounted to an "assault on our freedom to vote," .

I doubt they do just because no one really likes having to show ID for things, like it'd be nice not to have to show it to buy beer even when one is obviously over 21. But it's not that big a deal so people probably are ok with the minor inconvenience.
