You know if anyone thinks that Trump is our guy, shouldn't it be considered that he declined to pardon Assange? I question what good explanation there could be for that.

I like Trump, but I agree, that was an issue where he disappointed me. I think that's owed to Trump's strong nationalist streak, and he sees Assange as embarrassing the US on the national stage. Even though it was over shitty foreign adventurism that Trump also doesn't like, Trump still doesn't like his country being embarrassed.

Of course, there's also the chance that the government's accusations of Assange are true, that he didn't merely act as a journalist, but gave Manning help and instructions on how to compromise government systems. I'm doubtful that's true, but if it is, that would give credence to Trump's dislike of Assange.
