It is insane how he was allowed to tell so many lies. So much for all the claims of a based judge.

Both sides are given very broad leeway in closing statements, and the judge almost never interrupts. They're allowed to say things they otherwise couldn't at any other point in the trial.

Apparently in the state law they can pretty much say what they want in their closing statements.

The defence won't object because every dumb thing the defence says they can rip into them for in their own closing statement.
