The parallels are pretty interesting. That's probably why China has such a harsh stance on drugs. Their country was literally destroyed in the past by malevolent foreign countries poisoning their people with narcotics.

Meanwhile, us morons in the US are trying to liberalize drugs laws and make access to narcotics "safe and affordable"...
