I'm a bit against ageism, I know some seniors who are with it mentally and would make good leaders, and I know young people that are idiots of course. It all depends, some sort of mental cognitive test should be done though.

Everyone who ever lives will eventually become disabled, for a short or long period, unless they are lucky enough to have a sudden death. Few people realize this, and few have compassion.
I know many old folks who are slow but smart (slow in action and in processing) - and I prefer their company to the many who are slow or fast and stupid, younger or not.
some sort of mental cognitive test should be done though
Mandatory?
At what age? All ages?
Who writes rigs the tests?
This would be a new form of mental ability segregation.
