it is rather difficult to just "ditch capitalism" when the entire world operates as capitalists. You failed to offer an alternative.

It is an interesting article but yes, it offers no alternative. I think simply not allowing as many of the liberal elements of capitalism into society would come close to solving the problems we face today with capitalism as the main economic system.

capitalism is an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state, according to google.

my understanding of capitalism is a system where people use money to exchange for goods and services.

capitalism is a system that allows the rich to explain to the poor that the rich get to eat ten thousand hamburgers while the poor sometimes get none, and has nothing to do with any of the issues in that article.

Money has been used for though of years while capitalism has only been around a few hundred.

Also rich and poor have also existed for thousands of years so are not due to capture. The original division between rich and poor came about due to differences in strength. Don't imagine people would be nice to each other if there was no money.

i could make fun of capitalism and remind you all that pussy is the oldest form of currency.

But that is the very basis of the system. The article talks about for instance abortions everywhere, liberal capitalists would of course embrace it as it is another avenue to make money from while other people would dislike it due to religion or factual stuides. That is one of the issues with "real" capitalism, is that it allows / encourages degeneracy and exploitivism for an increased amount of cash paid to them. That is what my original comment addressed, the fact that the more liberal bits of it should be removed.

A better definition is that Capitalism is a dictatorship of capital. That's opposed to Socialism, which is a dictatorship of labor. Feudalism would be a dictatorship of land. No system has ever been 100% capitalist or socialist, however (and would probably collapse if they tried it).

I prefer Corporatism, in which the state forces the various classes to co-operate, and affords to each equal power over society. I'll eventually write an article about it.

Unfortunately true.

You failed to offer an alternative.

I mentioned Paternalistic Conservatism, but other than that: I left it pretty vague. The point of this article was to get Conservatives questioning whether or not Capitalism is the right economic system — I didn't want to promote any one alternative, since there's a few.

I prefer State Syndicalism/Corporatism, in which workers partially own businesses (called codetermination in Germany) and can elect trade-based representatives to state unions, which would decide economic policy.

I'll get to it eventually, though, so consider this part one.
