It's interesting, and somewhat depressing, to ponder just how much of foreign policy is steeped in satisfying the superstitious dogmas of one tribe or another. Israel gets to trample the human rights of long time occupants of its claimed territory, with the full blessing of the USA & backing of its military.... All because of the edicts and stories from some Roman emperor & his cronies a couple of thousand years ago.

The deference to Jewish sensibilities by the largely Christian USA is all founded in 'end of days' prophecies from a book that has advice on how to best keep slaves, and offers such scientific gems like "birds are bats", and "donkeys can talk".
