I almost had a Krispy Kreme doughnut, one bite and never again. Just way to much sugar.

They're in cahoots with Big Insulin.

They're divine, as are Entenmann's doughnuts, and doughnuts at a local bakery, which is why I try not to eat them (unsuccessfully).

Yeah I just don't understand why Americans love sugar so much.

Good question. Perhaps for similar reasons that people like coffee and cigarettes, which are even more addictive. "Eating sugar releases opioids and dopamine in our bodies. This is the link between added sugar and addictive behavior." source

Sugar "addiction" is an evolutionary trait. When mankind was hunter-gatherers, sugar was harder to come by. Our bodies react to sugar in a way to make us binge on it when we find it. Our bodies then store it as fat. That fat is burned when we go through periods of fasting, like when early humans went days or weeks without finding much food. It has also been suggested that some bacteria in our intestines release chemicals that cause sugar cravings.

Good reading, thanks. My big addictive behavior is fruit, I enjoy snacking on fruit.

They sneak sugar in most of our foods from bread to Chinese takeout. It's an easy way to improve the palatability of foods. We often grow up kind of addicted to it.

I prefer fruit generally myself, but while fruit is unquestionably healthier, a medium apple has as much sugar as a candy bar.

At least Krispy Kreme makes their donuts in house, Dunkin has theirs shipped in.

That's almost worth as much as a lottery ticket some state was giving away. I bet next some gas station will offer half a gallon of gas with vax proof! What a steal!

They give their glazed donuts away all the time for any reason.

They must cost pennies to make.

Yeah, because nothing says "helth" like a double portion of high fructose corn syrup. Especially since most of the comorbidities for COVID are age and weight related.

The fact that most people dont see the absolute insult of this is astounding. Must be leftists. They're easily impressed.

I'm holding out for two fat crack rocks. That's my stance, I'm sticking to it.
