democrats were the party of slavery

    That was in the 1800s.

democrats were the party of the kkk

Those KKK democrats switched allegiance to the republican party along with dixiecrats who were outraged at LBJ signing the civil rights act into law.

The legalized slavery in prisons happens almost exclusively in Democrat strongholds, so yes, still the party of slavery.

5 people changing sides, who were not the klan members of the Democratic party, does not make for a party realignment.

5 people changing sides, who were not the klan members of the Democratic party, does not make for a party realignment.

It was more than just 5 people.

LBJ carried Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia when he ran for reelection.

Goldwater who ran after LBJ signed the civil rights act into law did not win a single southern state aside from Texas, if only those five people you spoke of showed up to vote, Goldwater would have carried the south. like LBJ did just one election prior to his.

When McGovern ran for president after Goldwater, he did not carry a single southern state.

KKK voters who were part of the democratic party showed America where their allegiance lay after the passage of the civil rights act. Republicans became the party of the KKK.

    Shalom

I don't know how he does it but Matt Gaetz manages to look like Beavis AND Butthead at the same time.
