Total fake news... the US seized a ship full of Iranian oil and sold the oil

Thanks for the info. I didn't expect this in the comments. Here's what I planned to note:

There is no other way to explain what is happening with the Biden-Obama 2.0 foreign policy. It is pure evil.

The demographic who believe this probably pray to Trump for his help (per the videos of this).

Down the rabbit hole > this links to another TGP link, which links to 2 lines at financialpost.com (Canadian right-wing disinformation), the second of which is:

The cargo is only the second oil import by the United States from Iran since late 1991, data on EIA’s website showed.

The EIA data will not load, so I am unable to see the data, even after VPNs to Canada and the US.

What they don't mention is what you note about the US seizure of Iranian oil.

Okay, just so that we can clear the air just a little here... this is not 100% pertinent to the article, but it is pertinent to the headline.

The "US" (meaning the government) does not buy and sell oil generally. US companies drill for oil, refine it, buy it on the international market, and sell it domestically and internationally.

In general, the US sells more oil than we import. This makes us a net energy producer, which - to give credit where credit is due - began under Trump. But it could be said under Trump as well... "The US is forced to import oil! Everyone panic and blame Trump." Because we buy and sell oil internationally every single day of every year. Cherrypicking to make a clickbait headline is disingenuous at best. People need to think critically and not react based on a headline.

I don’t mind a country buying oil from Iran if that country cannot produce its own oil. Except that America can produce its own oil. There is no reason to look abroad when you have the resources domestically.

However, newsflash Gateway Pundit: Iran is ** not** a "terrorist regime". What country is Iran threatening? And by the way, keeping rogue states like Israel and Saudi Arabia in check isn’t terrorism. But the Gateway Pundit is a propaganda distributor of Zionist, neoconservative ideology.
