You are as insane as the Trump-supporters are. I really am shocked every time I read one of your shill-comments. It's not a bother reading your words: they are the exact same as the spoken words of my Democrat sister.

All of this is relatively centrist. I see you've now resorted to name-calling instead of discussing politics. We've discussed right and left approaches. I am happy to discuss the centrist approach if you wish, but you'll have to behave. Also: listen to your sister, and try to appreciate that she has to deal with the people like you on occasion.

The centrist approach is not reform. You seek reform. That is not centrist. Actual centrists are varied in their views, but we all seek brand new inventions, born out of the best from each previous avenue, but inventions which use new power structures, new faces, new ideas, rather than those power structures, faces, and ideas which bred this corruption. You seek to put in place more corruption due to your support of the existing power structures, which have already been shown to be corrupt and unstable.

It's like we just got done driving a rusted car across the country, and it almost fucking killed us, and you are arguing that we should fix a few things and get back in the deathtrap. I say scrap the fucking thing and make something better using the parts.

My older sister is also a radical feminist and all discourse with her ends with: "The patriarchy is to blame." as she eats food my father paid for her, goes to the law school my father pays for, and drives a car my father pays for. She is bungled. I do not heed the words of bungled people, unless they begin to talk like someone who has seen more of the world than just a few classrooms. I do take into account her experiences, but her views on said experiences are super jaded and skewed.

Edit: concerning the "name calling". I'll stop calling you shill on a daily or semi-daily basis, but it's going to come out. You call it name calling and an "attack" but that is like calling Amelia transgender, or a tranny. If the hat fits.... You can surely call me some derogative term for being American. Or gypsy. I don't really take offense to things that are truthful. I will however take into account your jealously guarded feelings and find an acceptable way to refer to you as a shill. Does an outright pasting of the proper definition count as name-calling?

OK - thanks for the info.

I don't think I've indicated that I want reform, unless we refer to approaches by Bernie Sanders and AOC, who are much more left than me, but offer important points for reform that would be nice if they were possible (though the US Gov isn't ready to consider their policies for the 99%).

Perhaps I can address much of this by saying that - as a centrist (or whatever I am) - any transition for reform should be in constructive stages rather than the French or Russian revolutions. Voting the GOP out of office is one of those steps. Another step would be to re-enact the fairness doctrine. Perhaps the current infrastructure bill that Biden mentioned will help get some people back to work.

A book that addresses the philosophy of this centrism and the problems of reform is perhaps Hanna Arendt's 'On Revolution'.

To scrap the rusty car would be perfect, but at a severe cost to everyone, as much as we all need exactly that.

I wouldn't worry much about feminism, as it's just a common language these days, for better AND worse, along with decolonising and diversity training. It's inevitable. I think it's impressive your sister is in law school. She'll learn soon enough about the complications of corruption in the legal system, among lawyers, and in D.C., and will likely see the patriarchy arguement worthless in the face of reality (although the corruption is very much part of an "old boy" network in each state, in which there are a few women; when your sister sees how women will turn on women, she'll no longer see a united front among women or men; she'll also see extensive discrimination against everyone and will have to navigate that).

I know you support reform because we have argued on this site many times. I imagined that you had a pretty good grasp on my views as well. In my time here, I've seen you back-peddle often, and you've taken more and more of a moderate approach on issues you were once very leftist about. I don't know if that is because you fear confrontation and do not want to upset intelligent users here, or if that is because you have been learning and changing. I hope it is the latter.

"...but offer important points for reform." Reform is not centrist. Supporting either political party is not centrist. I also do not speak of a revolution. However, voting is a dead-end, and I do not speak of this past election, I speak of every election since JFK, maybe FDR. They are all illegitimate. We have natural rights. These rights allow us to overthrow illegitimate governments. I do not speak of a revolution. I speak of a revolt, and that is more akin to defending one's land than trying to change one's government. If a rapist is trying to claim that he owns your family, you defend your family.

I'll look into the book. However, any "centrist" who seeks "reform" is always a quiet member of one of the two parties, and their "reform" is always a scam committed so that they may further some goal. This has been made evident by all of the third-party candidates who are actually just Democrats or Republicans in disguise. This is a well known phenomenon.

"I wouldn't worry much about feminism." Yeah, and you also think we shouldn't worry about Talmudic Jews in power across the globe. Feminism isn't something my sister can keep supporting, you are correct. However, your reasons for that are wrong. She will stop supporting it because it will sicken her one day, and she will feel such shame and guilt that she will be required to radically change her views for something more life-affirming so that she may rid herself of that guilt and shame. The same might just happen to you one day.

I probably shouldn't respond, but:

I don't know if that is because you fear confrontation and do not want to upset intelligent users here, or if that is because you have been learning and changing. I hope it is the latter.

Absolutely none of these things. I've mentioned that I am here to try to see what the alt-right is up to, and thus learn about websites I'd never see elsewhere. 1) Saidit is normally a place for confrontation; 2) this is the first I've seen someone mention that there are intelligent users at Saidit, which is NOT the impression one gets when reading Saidit posts; the impression one gets is of mental illness, racism, sexism, extreme right-wing, etc. etc.; 3) perhaps learning about alt-righ viewpoints, but not changing with regard to my views of them. It's not as though I suddenly like Nazis.

The reforms I refer to are obviously left of center, in the viewpoint of an alt-right person.

If you don't vote, you support the loudest, ugliest, meanest, most corrupt asshole running for office, like Trump and similar Republicans.

you also think we shouldn't worry about Talmudic Jews in power across the globe

This is the polar opposite of what I think. WTF.

she may rid herself of that guilt and shame

I shouldn't comment on family matters, but this is just wrong on so many levels.

I try to have a sensible debate occasionally on Saidit. Sometimes it doesn't work. This last response is really condescending, and full of attacks of a personal nature. It's not part of a healthy discussion or debate. Perhaps it's unintentional, but its what I try to avoid at Saidit, as much as possible. In any event, this is why I thought I should respond. Best wishes.

I am not a Nazi, sir, and neither are many of the users here you seem to think are racists, or extreme right-wing. Some of them sure are, but I am not one. I have different views, which are authoritarian, but I do not believe in forcing my views on others through the blade or the pulpit. I will defend myself though. Reforms are not solutions that a true moderate would suggest when they are being attacked.

"If you don't vote..." I have the fucking right not to vote, Socks, and you know it. Don't ever try to blame the evils of either candidate on someone who will not take part in the charade. What the hell.

My sister deals with crippling depression and anxiety, born out of guilt and shame. I know all about that, and I conquered it, even though too many "experts" told me I'd deal with it for life. I am a happy, confident, driven man. My sister will have that for herself one day too, when she rids herself of all of those wasteful emotions.

So, you have a problem with the Jews in power? Why do you treat so many users here with such scorn when they try to talk about it?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

OK - in answer to your question:

1) Yes, the Jewish lobby is toxic for the US

2) I cannot think of a time that I supported the Jewish lobby, or associated wealthy Jewish business people, or Zionists.

3) Jewish people who don't fit the categories above, or who are not orthadox, are in my view the same as most other people. I don't like insular groups that try to exclude mixing with the general population and who support taking advantage of the 99% for the sake of the 1%.

This is all very refreshing to read from you, and new information to boot. (for me, at least)
