Sounds like Sen. Tammy Duckworth might be a little racist.

There are so many facets of dumbness to this dog's breakfast of a story:

Tammy Duckworth has said she will no longer vote to confirm Biden’s white nominees until he nominates an Asian for a cabinet position.

So "won't vote for any more white cabinet nominees" is a dishonest headline because it's taken out of context and presented as an absolute where it is not.

However on the other hand, she's a moron for holding the government hostage over a racial quota.

The article then says:

Apparently the White House told Duckworth and Hirono that Kamala Harris is Asian (she’s not) so relax.

She is partially of Asian descent. South Asian means Indian (India Indian), which is Asian. The writer of the article might be meaning that she's not East Asian (what we used to call Oriental), but what "she's not" isn't factually true.

However, it's also true that she is not at all Asian. She's American, Asian descended. So yeah.

Then the Twitter guy, Manu Raju, reports:

She said until there are AAPI [Asian American / Pacific Islanders] nominees to vacant positions -- such as OMB, FCC or a commitment to a future Cabinet secretaries - she's a no vote.

Which again is dumb, because she's looking for race over qualification and instead of negotiating with something like, "Hey, let's look at as many qualified people for these positions as possible and if there are a few where there are equally qualified candidates and one is an "AAPI", then let's fall on the side of the qualified / diverse one, OK?"

Instead, she draws a line in the sand and instigates a crisis where the expedient solution might be to put someone who's a bad fit into a position they're going to fail at because they weren't ready for it.

Then that gives people a legitimate reason to say "diversity hiring doesn't work" and point to this as a prime example.

And then Tammy Duckworth has just helped the very side she's railing against with this not-at-all thought out knee jerk reactionary grandstanding.

Then this bullshit article includes a link to a CNN article saying the Senators already backed down from this position (which we were led to believe at the start was the Senator unequivocally saying she "Won't vote for any more white cabinet nominees", remember?) when the White House threw them the barest of bones and said they'll hire an AARP AAPI advisor.

And then the article finishes by saying:

Biden just lost 2 democrats in the Senate.

When in fact, it's showing that he in fact smoothed over a minor temper tantrum by two Senate dipshits and retained their support.

All before this article even hit the web, I'll bet.

Just more proof that everyone - the media, the government, the left, the right - everyone - is full of shit in our current dystopian clown world.

Well, you make a very good argument. I guess I have to admit it was a kneejerk reaction to post this.

But even if the title is misleading I think it still says a lot about her that she did what she did. Most of Biden's cabinet is Jewish, if she had said that any other Jewish nomination is a no until whatever condition is met the fallout would make Hiroshima in 1945 look like a picnic. This was only possible as discrimination against white men.

No argument from me there, bro.

What about "White" Cabinet nominees?
