Just make your own bank, bro

Crypto: Hold my public key.

That was my first thought. You don't need a traditional bank any longer.

so many people talk about the "value" of crypto, but they always describe the "value" of crypto in terms of "US DOLLARS".. for example, right now one single bitcoin is worth $47k..

what if the value of the us dollar were to go simply berzerk? would we still express the value of the bitcoins in terms of us dollars?

what would our next move be? should we instead be thinking of what bitcoin is worth in terms of some other currency?

perhaps we should express the value of btc in terms of how many ounces of gold it is worth or barrels of oil.

You can view crypto in other metrics besides the USD, but I think what you're saying is that you're having trust issues with fiat money.

And that's a valid concern.

If I thought the dollar was going to collapse and we'd be living mad max style, I'd put all my money in fuel.

In the UK there was a reality tv series about this called The Bank of Dave.

Basically setting up the bank was pretty easy. The hard part was getting regulated which is needed to offer certain services. The big banks will work against small new banks setting up.

yeah, like ask users to donate, shouldn't be that hard to crowdfund a server.

Name the banks?

Why are conservatives putting up with this shit? Why do they still do business with corporations who wage a genocidal war against them?

Why is there no organized boycot against amazon for example? I dont get it...

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

You know that's always puzzled me. Conservatives talk a big talk, but when it comes right down to it, they shut up and play along.

You hear plenty of whining about cancel culture but for some reason they never expose the people who do the canceling, only the victims. The powers behind the canceling always stay anonymous. Which of course is a huge tactical advantage for the cancel activists. It's all about intimidation, establishing and manifesting a power structure, and most conservatives are helping them. I guess they really need a culling.

maxine waters.

Ya, only way to combat this is to out these companies and negatively impact their income.

[–]insta 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Why are conservatives putting up with this shit?

A notable percentage of conservatives are shackled by their own ideology. A lot of them just suck the dick of corporations without second thought. These conservatives will defend the "rights" of corporations to collude together to step on their own throat.

[–]christnmusicreleasesIndependent 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (9 children)

They are. Nobody in their right mind keeps all their cash in crypto, though. It's not stable, it's an investment, an a way around the currency system.

gab is so full of shit. Their site says that i can signup as a "full time patriot" for $500.00, but the regular price to be a "full time patriot" is $7,500.00

and they run stories that are intended to coddle the children, like the one where pence is establishing an organization that will prove that he is behind trump all the way.

no, if pence was behind trump he would have openly and clearly told miss pelosi to kiss my ass. pence is a traitor.

gab is a traitor that has a purpose that is meant to give patriots a false sense of hope.

the banks have denied them, right? i suppose that is why you are able to spend $500.00 to become a "full time patriot", lol..

gab is bullshit.

the epoch times is just the same.

all media has been compromised, including saidit.

What's the solution then, genius? Share your problem-solving skills with us.

What's the solution then, genius? Share your problem-solving skills with us.

well, that is part of the problem right there.. your attitude is a part of the problem.. all snippy and demanding.. you talk to me like you are some kind of holy roller smart ass, and you expect to actually engage me in any kind of an intellectual conversation? please understand that i dont mean harm or to be rude, but i am just suggesting that to come at me that way is perhaps not the method that is most likely to provoke a productive conversation.

having said that, i am of the mindset that our current problems will most likely never be solved by the mass posting thousands of videos and then endlessly arguing about the videos with complete strangers.

debating issues with strangers is never going to solve our problems, in fact it will probably make our problems grow and become worse.

this brings to mind alex jones.. obviously, the man is a tad disturbed, a bit weird... and even tho i do enjoy his message, his entire presentation just simply loses all credibility when he tries to sell to me some crap vitamin or whatever.. he makes me feel foolish like i am just some dupe to sell some crap to..

so, my suggestion is to simply LOSE ALL OF THE CHEEZY ADVERTISEMENTS AND STOP WITH THE SELLING OF VITAMINS AND CREAMS AND OTHER BULLSHIT..

and just put a bitcoin link at the bottom of the page.

btw, running a website is not that terribly expensive.. it costs you for your bandwidth basically, and it doesnt help if you bog down your website in oodles of nonsense javascript which costs you more in bandwidth and it makes your page load slower..

if you actually host your own videos, then you is gonna be paying for all that bandwidth.. let youtube or some other video streaming service pay that burden.. fk youtube.

simplify things is my rule.

Sorry, I shouldn't have been so flippant. But your assertion that "ALL media" is corrupt/compromised just sounds like conspiracy-theory BS. If all media can't be trusted, then communication, organizing, disseminating truth, it's all impossible. It's a cynical, nihilistic view. That's what I was reacting to.

[–]MaBarkers 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

until the new media is established, you are yelling into a vacuum.

the new media will be established after the genocide, which will exterminate 99.99% of humanity.

approximately five million people will remain on earth, the majority of which will be heavily poisoned by the radiation and others will die from other types of environmental contaminations.

the "great spill" happens in about seven of your earth years from the present, approximately in 2028, which will contaminate the air that is above ground, the only place where you can breathe will be if you are at least seventy five feet under ground.

good luck growing food down there.

people will sit around and tell tales about the "sun" and the "moon", which they have never seen with their own eyes.

for some reason, they are able to breed snakes down there and so that is how you will survive, by raising and eating snakes.

my name is john connor, i have returned from the future to save the past.

there is a terminator that wants to kill you, he will never stop.

do enjoy.

come on, i am kidding, but only a little.

USDC is perfectly stable way of storing USD in crypto

[–]MaBarkers 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

What is USDC?

Coinbase's USD stablecoin. I like DAI better though cause it's decentralized.

Like it was said here and in the comments of the article, name the banks.

They need to decentralize all things.
