If you get this excited about the prospect of putting a piece of cloth over your face so that you don't endager the lives of others, please do society a favor and stay home.

I like to quote questionable comments immediately under the comment to prevent editing.

    Screenshots take too long.

Great idea. Hadn't considered that, though I usually try to phrase my comments so people reading messages know what I'm talking about.

I'm also afraid of drowning, car accidents, and meteors.

Will the face diaper protect Grandma from that?

Most people are apparently retarded and think the mask is some invisible cloak of protection. Best example are the dumbasses in OPs picture. These idiots think they can wrestle some sweaty dude and not get infected because they've got the diaper on. People think they can sweat, take a shit, fuck, and other fun stuff as long as they are wearing the diaper.

If putting a "piece of cloth" over your face protected anybody from anything, why then haven't physicians been prescribing mask wearing to their patients for years?

If this guy was not a carrier, then he was endangering no one, but I get your point. It could also be said to stay home if you don't want to catch the virus.

              You answered your own question.

Am I afraid to catch Covid-19? No. Do I want to catch it. No. Am I a little concerned that I could catch it and transfer it to an older relative? Yes. While I'm in public I wash my hands, don't touch my mouth, eyes, or nose unless I have just washed my hands. A seemingly healthy person could have an underlying, unknown health condition that could be further affected by Covid-19 or influenza or even a common cold. Just because I am not "running scared" doesn't mean I don't know a little about biology and germs. I was careful around or avoided contagiously sick people before this virus and will do so after this has passed. Natural selection is also about people being smart enough to stay healthy and get treatment when they are sick.

you've always been like that during flu season? Or is this a new thing?

              [–]Zapped 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Always aware, but more diligent now, due to this being more contagious, albeit less dangerous on the average person.

This pandemic has most definitely been used as a political tool and has been made to seem more of a "crisis" than it was, but ignoring it is throwing out the baby with the bath water. One can fight the abuse of power while still adhering to science and common sense.

I see your point. It does build up your immune system being exposed to germs. A problem is the viral load. You don't want to get a strong exposure so the virus overtakes your body before your immune system can do it's job. Also, being outside more is better for your immune system, whether you're around other people or not.

I remember when it was $0.30 and better too. It goes up and down. Ironically when I worked in the US or in Canada the dollar exchange always seemed to switch to exploit me more when I crossed over. I never crossed when it was most advantageous.

I have been wanting to visit Canada. The only part I've seen is the Vancouver area for a couple of hours and Yukon territory close to the Alaskan border. My wife grew up down river, so I would like to cross over to your side while we're visiting relatives. I would also like to visit Quebec, but I don't speak Canadian French (or even regular French).

I've been to Alaska and the Queen Charlotte Islands. I'm huge fan of their art and by derivative relation their culture to understand it. I have 80 books on the Northwest Pacific art and culture. As an animator since 1989 I wanted to animated it and in 2004 I declined directing on the first animated series in Calgary because I was too much of a SJW. I wanted to help teach First Nations how to animate their own culture rather than lead a room of white boys animating over First Nations' actors' voices.

In my experience making an effort to learn basic words goes a long way and getting around in Québec isn't so difficult, especially in much of Montréal.

I live in Windsor, south of Detroit.

Canada? Lol that was the British Empire. Still pushing that outdated line?

Besides, I thought that celebrating war criminals was against Canadian values? Not when it's America, evidently.

Back to watching Filme Boarde du Canada, now. They put out 100% Canadian content all the time that you love.

If you don't recognize that British-Canadian history is indeed Canadian, then I guess you won't recognize that British-American history is indeed American. There were MANY presidents before George Washington too.

As a Canadian I can't get grants from the NFB, so maybe as an American you can? I'll try almost anything.

Canada wasn't even a country until, what, 1970? It was a part of the British Empire, just like all the others. I don't think this is even mildly controversial. The Queen is on their money and they have a Governor-General who can overrule anything their legislature does. A foreigner is the head of state.

Get a republic, already. And stop watching all our TV shows and watch your own Canadian-made content.

                [–]JasonCarswellVoluntaryist 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

Actually it was a country long before I was born in 1970.

Dominion of Canada is the country’s formal title, though it is rarely used. It was first applied to Canada at Confederation in 1867. It was also used in the formal titles of other countries in the British Commonwealth. Government institutions in Canada effectively stopped using the word Dominion by the early 1960s. The last hold-over was the term Dominion Day, which was officially changed to Canada Day in 1982. Today, the word Dominion is seldom used in either private or government circles.

April 17, 1982: The Constitution Act, 1982, via the Canada Act 1982, made Canada completely independent of the United Kingdom, removing the requirement to involve the British parliament in amending the Canadian constitution.

                "completely independent" = bullshit.

FYI, half of your crappy "American" TV shows are made in Canada. I've worked on some. In 1991 or 1992 I turned the town of Markham, Ontario into the completely fictional town of Hopewell, Connecticut for a shitty TV movie The Rapture, among other movies I art-directed on. Our grants for corporate media entertain you.

A foreigner can overrule any law from your legislature.

Definition of dominion: law : supreme authority : SOVEREIGNTY "having dominion over the natural world"

It doesn't seem to be clear. There is plenty of room in that story for the employees to have initiated the altercation by trying to physically forcing him to leave. It could really go either way with the data we presently have.

If it was a cop and a black man there'd be a civil rights lawsuit already.

Thanks for the link. This puts a different angle on the story.

These people think that all you need is a mask to protect them from their virus.... like it was some invisible cloak of protection; you can sweat, fuck, shit, do whatever as long as you've got your mask on. That's the level of retardation we have to deal with. Not that this is a virus anyway...

In a real pandemic you wouldn't even dare to do something this dumb. I've come to realize that no "illuminati" or "NWO" scares me more than the general dumbness of humanity. Fuck anal swabber mentality.

The emperor wears no clothes and a face diaper that protects none.

Often I wonder if humanity is even worth saving from themselves and the ruling class.

No this stuff will continue until the onlookers stop staring (and drooling like Homer Simpson), and start kicking ass. Bullies work on the principle that the crowd is more interested in watching them stomp a victim, than in attacking them. Also on the principle that there will be no future negative repercussions for their actions.
