It's this insane shit why I pulled my child out of kindergarten. I live in a conservative rural area in california, and while I mainly hear about this happening in other states I know it's only a matter of time until the state puts enough pressure on my local office of education and the teachers. My spouse and I have deliberately kept our financial situation loose enough to allow us the time to homeschool. I feel bad for kids whose parents leveraged all their time for high mortgages and car payments, or high rent with no good career.
