We don't. If you're an actual liberal, i.e. someone who values individual rights and liberties. Leftists are not liberals.

Usually it's the conservatives who hate fun: drugs/sex prohibition, authoritarian policing, etc.

I agree. Having grown up in the 80's I find the irony to be quite mind boggling that now the democrat party is the socially conservative party...
