    In 1936, Hitler's party violated the Treaty of Versailles and the Locarno Pact by sending German military forces into the Rhineland. German annexed of Sudetenland in 1938, and proceeded to invade Czech territories in March 1939, and then Poland in September. Newspapers in the US and Europe were discussing potential war with Germany during the late 1930s.
