LOL. Seriously, you actually think nationalism = Hitler? Yeah, you have no idea what civic nationalism is, just like I said. You just did free association, saw a word you hate, nationalism, and made assumptions. Total Reddit SJW modus operandi. Begone from this site, paid shill.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (15 children)

What do you think of black lives matter?

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

You don't know what civic nationalism is, nor why its death means pretty much our Republic is finished. What a surprise. I'm sure you'll do fine in a guard tower at one of the fun and job training camps surrounded by barbed wire.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

And is the world controlled by globalists?

[–]Chipit[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You're not here to have a conversation, or exchange knowledge. You're just part of the Reddit Hate Brigade, here to disrupt and demoralize this site. Begone and get a better job.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nope. You just can't fully define your ideology because even someone like me can find the contradictions.

I think these are good questions, /u/bookmobile, but as we see here, /u/Chipit can't or doesn't want to answer tham. This is unfortunate especially because Saidit would be a useful place in which to discuss US notions of nationalism, and nationalism in other countries, in the context of the global history of nationalist movements. There are some users here who are partially addressing the issue. And, as you indicate, there are fascist aspects to some of these approaches to nationalist movements.

Fascism is resistance to bolshevism. If you're at the point at which your country needs fascism, your nationalism has been too faint and too weak for too long.

You know who goes into the gas chambers first? Concern trolls.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

How stupid does one have to be to arrange that syllogism: if fascism, then it was needed to combat bolshevism?

That was not the reason for the rise of fascism in the early 20th C.

I had to look up 'concern troll', which doesn't apply here.

Are you implying that you want me dead?

[–]wristaction 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What was the reason for the rise of fascism in the early 20th century, praytell? To what ideology did fascism arise to oppose? Since you're looking things up.

Let me Google that for you:

"World War I and its aftermath (1914–1929)

At the outbreak of World War I in August 1914, the Italian political left became severely split over its position on the war. The Italian Socialist Party (PSI) opposed the war but a number of Italian revolutionary syndicalists supported war against Germany and Austria-Hungary on the grounds that their reactionary regimes had to be defeated to ensure the success of socialism.[112] Angelo Oliviero Olivetti formed a pro-interventionist fascio called the Revolutionary Fasces of International Action in October 1914.[112] Benito Mussolini upon being expelled from his position as chief editor of the PSI's newspaper Avanti! for his anti-German stance, joined the interventionist cause in a separate fascio.[113] The term "Fascism" was first used in 1915 by members of Mussolini's movement, the Fasces of Revolutionary Action.[114]

The first meeting of the Fasces of Revolutionary Action was held on 24 January 1915[115] when Mussolini declared that it was necessary for Europe to resolve its national problems—including national borders—of Italy and elsewhere "for the ideals of justice and liberty for which oppressed peoples must acquire the right to belong to those national communities from which they descended".[115] Attempts to hold mass meetings were ineffective and the organization was regularly harassed by government authorities and socialists.[116] German soldiers parading through Lübeck in the days leading up to World War I. Johann Plenge's concept of the "Spirit of 1914" identified the outbreak of war as a moment that forged nationalistic German solidarity.

Similar political ideas arose in Germany after the outbreak of the war. German sociologist Johann Plenge spoke of the rise of a "National Socialism" in Germany within what he termed the "ideas of 1914" that were a declaration of war against the "ideas of 1789" (the French Revolution).[117] According to Plenge, the "ideas of 1789"—such as the rights of man, democracy, individualism and liberalism—were being rejected in favor of "the ideas of 1914" that included "German values" of duty, discipline, law and order.[117] Plenge believed that racial solidarity (Volksgemeinschaft) would replace class division and that "racial comrades" would unite to create a socialist society in the struggle of "proletarian" Germany against "capitalist" Britain.[117] He believed that the "Spirit of 1914" manifested itself in the concept of the "People's League of National Socialism".[118] This National Socialism was a form of state socialism that rejected the "idea of boundless freedom" and promoted an economy that would serve the whole of Germany under the leadership of the state.[118] This National Socialism was opposed to capitalism because of the components that were against "the national interest" of Germany, but insisted that National Socialism would strive for greater efficiency in the economy.[118][119] Plenge advocated an authoritarian rational ruling elite to develop National Socialism through a hierarchical technocratic state.[120] "

And, as you indicate, there are fascist aspects to some of these approaches to nationalist movements.

You're not here to have an honest argument. You're here to call people fascists. Just like the Reddit Hate Brigade - oh my, that's where you were assigned to Ruqqus from.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Rather than focus on insults, make a point. I am not sure what your point is in this case. As noted above and in a previous reply to you, bring to the discussion something informative (rather than your usual: but you're a bad person!!)

[–]wristaction 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was in 1999, but then we got distracted by some wars and afterwards globalism was an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So you main beef with hitler is his anti-semitism?

[–]wristaction 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It's for faggots.

You're a BLMer?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You are probably the reason why everybody's porn search has 'black cock' even through nobody asked for black or cock.
