Yes. I particularly appreciate the term "managerial class". This is a useful way of conceiving what has happened. This isn't just about "Trump" or "Biden" or "Pelosi", etc, etc. This is about class dynamics, with the classes looking slightly different than what Marx proposed, but firm "classes" nonetheless. The group of people (numbering in the tens of millions) who were told over and over again at our college graduations "You are the leaders of tomorrow!" also received massive social conditioning during our time learning to "run things". The majority of these people adopt the dominant set of beliefs - the worldview - from that environment and they are convinced this is how the world must work. Their beliefs are reinforced daily through news intake and other propaganda channels, and they are unwilling to compromise on any of it. I've said many times this is the same part of the brain that used to be occupied with religious dogma. Now it's what we can call "intellectual dogma", but it's the same defining the world, which very much includes a moral component. These are not just ideas; they're ideas reinforced by deep feelings of moral superiority. This is why it's so ironic how much so many of them hate Christianity, when they themselves represent the next iteration of the same phenomenon they so firmly reject from its history.

This group is now in charge. And they feel quite justified treating anyone who disagrees with their moral stance in the way that heretics have always been treated. When any group so morally rigid gains the political power to enforce their worldview - this has happened countless times throughout history - their behavior is that of a mob. The most organized mob, to be sure, but a mob nonetheless. Mobs are not rational, they are not peaceful, and they hunt down and destroy any perceived "threat" with heartless cruelty.

The professional-managerial class has been around for some time, but has been increasing in power in the latest decades and has now assumed full control. They have no pity on us and will use all of their might to destroy us utterly. They're the Inner Party that Orwell wrote about in 1984, interested in power for its own sake.

"[The managerial class] are not managers in the narrow sense, but scientists, technicians, teachers, journalists, broadcasters, bureaucrats, professional politicians: in general, middling people who feel themselves cramped by a system that is still partly aristocratic, and are hungry for more power and more prestige. These people look towards the USSR and see in it, or think they see, a system which eliminates the upper class, keeps the working class in its place, and hands unlimited power to people very similar to themselves. It was only after the Soviet régime became unmistakably totalitarian that English intellectuals, in large numbers, began to show an interest in it."

Plumber. In a few years everyone will be eating the bugs and synthetic meat. Pipes will be bulging and toilets will be filled with diarrhea.

Presidents who kill 400,000 of their people are not supposed to get reelected. You people are getting outnumbered by more logical and caring voters. This is not oppression.

      [–]Lahontan 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Logical, lol. You mean the feelings invoked in you by the NY Times.

      [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Perhaps. At least I didn't get "informed" by some unknown dude on 8kun.

      [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

You Reddit Hate Brigade members don't even know what civic nationalism is. Well it's dead now, and you killed it. We Americans are no longer a unified country, you turned us into warring camps, and now you're bent on destruction. What's it like, roleplaying Hitler?

      [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (17 children)

Okay. So you love nationalism, but you hate hitler?

      [–]Chipit[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

LOL. Seriously, you actually think nationalism = Hitler? Yeah, you have no idea what civic nationalism is, just like I said. You just did free association, saw a word you hate, nationalism, and made assumptions. Total Reddit SJW modus operandi. Begone from this site, paid shill.

      [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (15 children)

What do you think of black lives matter?

      [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

You don't know what civic nationalism is, nor why its death means pretty much our Republic is finished. What a surprise. I'm sure you'll do fine in a guard tower at one of the fun and job training camps surrounded by barbed wire.

      [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

And is the world controlled by globalists?

      [–]Chipit[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You're not here to have a conversation, or exchange knowledge. You're just part of the Reddit Hate Brigade, here to disrupt and demoralize this site. Begone and get a better job.

      [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nope. You just can't fully define your ideology because even someone like me can find the contradictions.

      [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

I think these are good questions, /u/bookmobile, but as we see here, /u/Chipit can't or doesn't want to answer tham. This is unfortunate especially because Saidit would be a useful place in which to discuss US notions of nationalism, and nationalism in other countries, in the context of the global history of nationalist movements. There are some users here who are partially addressing the issue. And, as you indicate, there are fascist aspects to some of these approaches to nationalist movements.

      [–]wristaction 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Fascism is resistance to bolshevism. If you're at the point at which your country needs fascism, your nationalism has been too faint and too weak for too long.

You know who goes into the gas chambers first? Concern trolls.

      [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

How stupid does one have to be to arrange that syllogism: if fascism, then it was needed to combat bolshevism?

That was not the reason for the rise of fascism in the early 20th C.

I had to look up 'concern troll', which doesn't apply here.

Are you implying that you want me dead?

      [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

And, as you indicate, there are fascist aspects to some of these approaches to nationalist movements.

You're not here to have an honest argument. You're here to call people fascists. Just like the Reddit Hate Brigade - oh my, that's where you were assigned to Ruqqus from.

      [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Rather than focus on insults, make a point. I am not sure what your point is in this case. As noted above and in a previous reply to you, bring to the discussion something informative (rather than your usual: but you're a bad person!!)

      [–]wristaction 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was in 1999, but then we got distracted by some wars and afterwards globalism was an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

      [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So you main beef with hitler is his anti-semitism?

Hey pal, you have a problem with the system's dubious propaganda? Well I'm going to affirm the system's dubious propaganda. Take that!

Valuable contribution. Thanks for that insight.

A good writer - but notice that there is no reliable evidence for this person's claims. This reflects his approaches in much of the blog. Before Saiditors praise this clickbait, have a look at this other (fascist-Zionist) gem from him:

        https://vdare.com/posts/the-virtue-of-nationalism-a-book-of-contradictions

        [–]Chipit[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

There is a lot of overlap between Zionism and the racist ethnostate that the alt-right wants for America. No immigration, deportation of illegal aliens, border wall, a government that serves the needs of the chosen race: Israel has it all.

Chapter 16 is his best chapter and one of the strongest arguments for ethno-nationalism you will find, outside of dissident circles. That chapter would not look out of place in Greg Johnson’s White Nationalist Manifesto. It is both an argument against multiculturalism and an argument in favor of ethno-nationalism. He is careful to avoid directly mentioning the biological aspect of nationalism, but no rational person can read that chapter and no think Hazony assumes a biological root to nationalism.

        "reliable evidence"

SJWs like you don't believe in evidence, facts, logic or Enlightenment values: all are "the master's tools" of racism. No, really; that's what you actually believe, citation here.

You're not using racist tools, are you?

        [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I appreciate the information and the chapter, but why to you to identify me and others in this thread as SJW or some other kind of person you don't like. Let's stick to the topic.

Regarding Zionism and the racist ethnostate - or whatever you wish to call it - there is a total overlap. For example, for honest Zionists there is no "two state solution," there is only Israel, and Palestine is not recognized as a state. You must know this. And yes, Raadical Republicans support a voting base that wants for the US: " No immigration, deportation of illegal aliens, border wall, a government that serves the needs of the chosen race." As for SJW, and racist tools, I have no idea what you're talking about in those cases.

The way you've written the response is not a clear indication of what you are trying to say. If you are referring to your agreement with the book, "The Virtue of Nationalism" and your support of "ethno-nationalism," you want to support a fascist, authoritarian regime in the US. This would obviously be wrong on so many levels.

        [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

You're arguing dishonestly. You're not applying the Principle of Charity and trying to understand the opponent's arguments as per Saidit policy. You're trying to twist my words so you can call me a nazi, which is total SJW language from the Reddit Hate Brigade, to which you belong.

        [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

        1) There is nothing dishonest in what I've written here or elsewhere

        2) I don't know what 'Principle of Charity' is, and should not have to

        3) Yes - "trying to understand the opponent's arguments" (Not really a problem here, nor is there an 'opponent'. This is not a game.)

        4) It's a simple comparison between Nazi interests and what you've written. This is not about you, or me.

        5) Still don't know or care what an SJW is

        6) Also don't know about the Reddit Hate Brigade

        7) Try not to take any of this personally. Stick to the facts or the debate. Focusing on insults is of course a weakness and doesn't help your argument. Cheer up.

        [–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

        2) I don't know what 'Principle of Charity' is, and should not have to

        So you're uneducated.

        5) Still don't know or care what an SJW is

Social Justice Warrior. I.E., you, but you already knew that. More dishonesty.

        6) Also don't know about the Reddit Hate Brigade

More lies. You've come here from Reddit to spread hate on this website. It's not a secret.

        [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Does it help you to make up categories for people? Does this make you feel better? None of what you mention above is true, or even logically accurate, but you seem to insist that you already know me so well.

        For example:

        2) An educated person does not have to know your specific use of Principle of Charity. One can for example think of early 17th century concepts in Italy, or Spain, or similar.

        5) Look up I.E., and I do not have to know what SJW is. It's unimportant, and irrelevant. I'm also not that social, that concerned with justice on Saidit, or a 'warrior', whatever you think that is.

        6) You can read in my comment history that I am not on Saidit to spread hate. Another factual error from you.

What's happened here is that you've tried to identify me, and you want to argue about facts. Both of these approaches are really stupid and unproductive.

        [–]bjam27 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's fake. This user always does this shit.
