Interesting that in 1984 Orwell also has the middle class both being the party enforcers and being the most oppressed and punished by the state while the lower orders just get drunk most of the time.

If the woke do manage to pull a revolution off I'm definitely dropping back down the social scale. Save me a seat by the bar.
