I think there's better evidence this was an attempt by China to become the world leader. They really want that. Check out the cesspool r/Sino sometime if you want to see just how envious and hateful they are.

Research the belt and road initiative. People like Brendon o Connell, Jeremy rothe kushel and John brisson have been discussing the Russia, Isreal China links for a while. They want to leave the US in the dust.
