Failed collectivist/centralized/progressive/Democrat etc policies Have Laid Waste to America for 50 Years.

Not progressive, neo-progressive. Traditional Progressives like myself are appalled by what the left is doing. Theodore Roosevelt wouldn't have stood for it, that's for sure. Maybe Franklin Roosevelt would've, but even he would draw the line somewhere — and he was more of a Liberal, anyways.

And in response to the article: you can't call Republicans "Conservatives" — they represent half of Wall Street, not traditional American values. Time and time again have the Republicans thrown American values under the bus, just to give the Bankers and Billionaires some extra money.

If anything: Democrats and Republicans, together, have laid waste to America for two-hundred years. The Republicans say the Democrats are destroying America, the Democrats say it's the Republicans, and I say they're both right.

The parties are not equal.

Yes, Neoliberalism is cancer. Traditional progressives are also in the Democratic party, and can offer an alternative to the past 4 years dumster fires.

Traditional progressives are also in the Democratic party

Theodore Roosevelt (the Traditional Progressive) was a Republican, and while he did split to form his own party, it merged back into the RP after his failed re-election. The Progressive movement was overtaken by Liberals after that, and the RP became the party of Big Business, so Traditional Progressives naturally became Independents, and that's how it's remained ever since.

can offer an alternative to the past 4 years dumster fires.

Maybe, but Traditional Progressivism, or perhaps: Progressive-Conservatism (a label I use inter-changeably), clashes with the Democratic Party's stances on social issues. We could re-join the Republican Party, but they clash with our stances on economic issues. For these reasons, it's imperative that we align ourselves with third parties and Independents.

T. Roosevelt was president when endemic corruption was crippling the US, and indeed helped start the process to deal with some of the corruption. But this was only the beginning. Now, with money in politics again, and endemic corruption in politics, with the 1% taking everything of the 99%, especially during COVID and under McConnell, I would agree that it's important to remember the approaches of T. Roosevelt, though they're outdated in the current climate. Three dacades following T. Roosevelt, the policies of Republicans and others failed to the point of the Great Depression. What was needed thereafter was a New Deal (a coalition under Franklin D. Roosevelt), whcih defined the progressive liberal movement and the American Dream that followed. The corruption we're facing now began under Regan, and as far back as Nixon and even Johnson. Even Clinton contributed to this corruption in a significant manner. Any progressive movement would have to challenge the main culprits of this corruption, which are the GOP (along with a few neo-liberals who've been ineffective, and to hell with the asshole Libertarians). Real world progressivisim must address the corruption by the 1%, on which Teddy would agree.

Democrats are not and have never been collectivists. Like Republicans and most others in American politics, they are hyper-capitalists who push individualist consumerism.

Once Trump gives us the signal we'll brand you and Pinochet you to Epstein Island where you can make your magic utopia.

Seems you refer to a military dictatorship that will be started by Twittler and result in the suiciding of me and others.

Is that it? Do you want me dead and the installation of a military dictatorship?

Two dimensional black and white thinking. Try harder.

Try harder to develop a highly polarized comment into something it isn't? Mean what you say, or don't say it.

Yes - had the the relatively simple process or test, quarantine, masks and social distancing been followed in February-April, all of the businesses would be open now. But no, a bunch of selfish idiots insisted COVID is a hoax and they wanted their FREEDUMBS, and other nonsense. A wealthy country like the US should have reduced the spread of the virus long ago, whcih would have saved small businesses. Know why the GOP want to kill small businesses? To temporarily earn a profit for the 1%. Now the economy is shit, thanks to these assholes.

It's the democrats who want to destroy small businesses clown. Educate yourself.

You have no evidence; there is no evidence. It's easy to see the GOP trends that have destroyed small businesses. Simply Google it. Look for: presidents, economy, jobs, national debt .
