We should tie the salary of politicians to the median salary of their constituents. When the people they're supposed to represent suffer, they suffer. Perhaps then they'll have the proper incentives to actually do their job.

Just look at the stats.

The big fat people don't walk the streets, if they did they'd lose weight. They drive to take out and back then spend all day watching the TV. You don't see them.

Politicians should live on donations. Only people that support politicians should pay for their salaries. "Elected" officials shouldn't be able to take money from those they harm.

What will prevent politicians from ignoring non-supporters? The same thing that prevents them now.

And the victims get to keep more of their money.

And they'd still be making millions.

All Federal elected officials should have a lifetime yearly income cap put on them and their spouses with any excess they make put toward infrastructure repair. Along with the founding a new a new agency that investigates current and former politicians to make sure that gifts aren't being given to exceed this cap.
