You guys are reading this totally wrong. He said if he ever came to an impasse with Obama, since he was just VP, he'd retire for health reasons. He was saying he expects Kamala to kowtow. The VP is essentially powerless, it's no revelation.

Rewatch. That is NOT what he said.

He could've been a puppet under Obama as well, but is clearly a puppet under Harris. She is the one with the power and can obviously force the Biden to resign if he actually becomes president.

I watched it again. I am 100% sure that's what Biden was trying to convey. That just as Obama was his superior, he is Kamalas and they'll provide a united front unless a subject is so decisive as the vp would step down.

It's standard political bullshit, you can find hiding meanings in it if you want but I think it's clear what was intended.

It was clear that he would step down. Your interpretation is the the unclear, hidden message which is nonexistent.

Kamala will be president. Biden will willingly step down.
