It's not 50/50. I'm not sure how to get the proper stats, but its the extremists and fake extremist psyops that cause the issues, which help to create a fake divide to perhaps encourage a real divide.

We are not divided.

We are not divided.

Lmao

People are divided, but real life feels a LOT different from the internet, and better.

I live a real life, and it's nice, but the divisions are that bad - conservatives just won't say it out loud

None of us knows the true stats. This is part of the problem. But as long as the attempt to contain two hostile philosophies in a single space continues, these stats are unlikely to become any clearer. With a home for each, natural migration could lead to a better sense of the reality.

Who is this "we" who are not divided? What is the unifying theme that yields a single polity?

Let's smash this country into 50 autonomous regions, decentralization style!

[–]StillLessons[S] 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Easier said than done. But of course so also is the idea of splitting into two...

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

I'm being facetious, we already have 50 states that are supposed to have a high degree of autonomy. Too bad there's only about 5 people in DC who give a shit.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

We where supposed to be fifty states, not one — and that's for a reason. The founding fathers originally envisioned the US as a confederacy, so that each state could pursue its own path without impeding upon the others.

The tenth amendment must be upheld, and the Constitution amended to return power to the States. That's the only way to save America. I even go as far as to believe that the Senate should confirm the President (on which I'm writing an essay).

There's also Favorability Voting, which would expel many of the radical elements from our political scene, and instead elect Centrists — but a new confederacy would be my main proposal.

I agree about the tenth amendment. It has been completely abused for more than a century now.

It most certainly has, by a corrupt Supreme Court which has no respect for the rule of law.

The solution is the total replacement of the Court. Every Justice must be impeached — which can be done in the same manner as to the President — and removed from office.

I support this. We should go back to square one, and fix what we have, rather than throw it all out or keep it as is

I'd vote for that!!! (As many times as necessary.)

This was the philosophy of the founding fathers, and is now espoused by those calling themselves "conservatives".

They claim that when it suits them, but the government keeps growing under conservatives and there's aspect of people's lives they want to control too.

It's the same damn devil either way, we shouldn't fight amongst our peon selves hoping massa sees us being obedient, faithful little slaves.

[–]StillLessons[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

You raise a good question. Does such a beast exist as a government that doesn't grow - given enough time - to take on tyrannical powers? Given any particular "problem" in common, groups of people consistently look for "someone" to "solve" it. This is a force of human psychology naturally leading to endless reasons to call for more government. Is it possible - and if so how - to put a lid on this tendency for government creep? I'm sorry I don't have an answer for this question. It's a good one and critically important to the debate.

Yes. Go libertarian. Reduce govt control and involvement. Stop the psyops and propaganda that exists to push a narrative. If they think people are too stupid otherwise, and "need" control by these means, try educating them instead. They support a divide because then the people are against each other and not looking at the main problem together, united.. "them".

“If you can catch about 100 red fire ants that live in the southwestern desert and also about 100 of those large black ants that live there and drop them in the same jar, not much will happen– until you shake the jar vigorously and dump them out on the ground. The red ants will attack the black ants and the black ants will attack the red ants and they’ll devastate each other. The thing is, all those ants put together never do figure out that the real enemy is the guy who shook the jar.” We need to destroy those that shake the jar

America is divided, but the divide isn't over small/big government. It's explicitly racial -- a divide over adhering or not adhering to Frankfurt school social theory.

[–]wecandobetter 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

No it's not. It's classism disguised as racism.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

This has nothing to do with class.

In every system Jews are at the top and gentiles at the bottom. In every system, Jews inflict their ethnic hatred on whites -- these days it's their social dogma which paints whites as oppressors, non-humans that deserve violence and ostracization -- in the last century it was mass starvations and genocide ala the holodomor. It's not the faceless elites vs the poor workers, it's Jews vs gentiles and especially Europeans who they have an ethnic grudge against, one that goes back more than 2000 years to the Romans burning their temple during the sacking of Jerusalem.

You Jew-conspiracists are incredible

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

It's not a conspiracy. Jews are quite open about all of this. Philosemitic boomers just refuse to acknowledge the truth.

Post nose

We already have states and cities/towns. The solution is to relocate a lot of currently federal power to a local/state level, and to share it among communities and individuals rather than just government/corporate entities. This allows both liberal and conservative regions to go about their way of life in relative peace.

If the wrong person in one office is legitimately such a huge problem, that suggests the office should not be so powerful. In your post you characterize the left as people who want more government, but they also tend to oppose a lot of uses of government power that conservatives often support.

Of course this is all easier said than done, but it's also easier than trying to actually divide up the country.

Shut the fuck up. Don't even say it. This isn't a game. Blood would run. Precious wilderness be destroyed, irrevocably. The banner-carrier of western thought extinguished. Over what? Slightly higher taxes? Settle it at the voting booths and in the courts. Shut the FUCK UP with this childish play-tend revolutionary bullshit.

[–]scrubking 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You can't split the country because they would just invade you and try to take you over. They don't want their own place, they want to enslave you and take your place.

Those in power manipulating society to divide and hence conquer, would love to see a civil war over political parties. It will dissuade the public to never realize who really controls these groups.

[–]Sumkindafing 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You need to look past political systems, they are there for division and control and your plan is to divide the retards that buy into it even further. The biggest pool of voters is people who don't vote.

People need to understand the fight is about class and the the distribution of rescources. Billionaires around the globe have more in common with each other than they do the average person. They divide people on purpose so you don't look at the real enemy taking your tax, your rights and your autonomy.

"No taxation without representation" is just straight up theft. This was one of the reasons for The American Revolution. Yet again this is a massive problem. They already have your tax so they are only beholden to corporations to increase their financial portfolios.

The profit extrated from the people is used to control them further.

It really is as simple as divide and conquer.

If you see yourself as a conservative or liberal or whatever camp or label you're a thick cunt, again IMO.
