Fracking is an ecological disaster on a scale we have never seen before. It's kind of sad to think that the exact thing that should win Biden the fence sitters is the thing that might cost him those votes. Or it could be that the moderates are flocking to Biden for this and the media are once again bullshitting everyone.

True. I am very confused over why Biden would be denying this. It is literally the only stance his campaign had that I support.

How is it a disaster?

Literally destroying the hard rocks under your cities causes more earthquakes, and more ground shifting. Literally destroying the barrier between ground water and aquifers contaminates the aquifers with whatever gets spilled. Literally pumping millions of gallons of extremely poisonous slurry into the rocks that then get pulverized and leach all that shit into the aquifers literally poisons everyone who uses groundwater. Including farmers and anyone who eats their produce.

It's plain to see how it is a disaster, so if you are still ignorant (no offense) then it's probably because you are gullible enough to believe the shills. There is no shortage of shills who will claim that "it's totally fine". You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink. I'm sorry if these clear as day facts don't convince you, but I'm so done arguing with shills and fools who claim that it is perfectly safe to drill through and aquifer, pulverize the solid rocks that protected it while pumping it full of the most poisonous chemicals known to man.

Shale oil (the non inflammatory name) is responsible for the USA being self-sufficient in oil for the first time in decades. Just think, we can tell the Saudis to go fuck themselves. We can get out of the entire Middle East.

We already had the Saudi's by the balls. The fact that it has benefits does not change the fact that it is an ecological disaster.

No we didn't, for a very long time we were dependent on imports. Now we're self-sufficient. That's huge, a game changer. Our foreign policy was warped for the longest time by having to kiss Saudi ass. Those days are over, and it's because of shale oil.

We were not kissing Saudi ass, they were always our ally against OPEC. And in as far as the US sucked big oil dick it was not for the benefit of foreign oil giants, but our own Oil funded billionaires who have their tentacles in government. They brainwashed you with the lies that we are invading oil rich countries to save America from OPEC but in reality it was simply to enrich the billionaires who had those riches deposited directly into their coffers. The oil wars are not about oil dependency, they are simply about conquest. Oil is easy to sell, that's it.

We always had a strategic oil reserve, we still have massive oil fields in alaska that can't be touched, and alternative fuels are far easier to utilize than you have been lead to believe. Just because they "corroborate" their claims by manipulating the price of fuel at the pump to go along with their lies does not prove the claims that we are at the mercy of OPEC and crude prices are our master.

Destroying the environment forever is not a viable solution to any problem, big or small.

Uh. We started gulf war I to protect Saudi oil. That's the whole reason this mess started in the first place.
