Possibly. I know some people I like on YouTube but who are much, much better when interviewed, hell even just doing a livestream answering questions from people. It keeps them from rambling.

Ideally that is how it would work even with moderators, allowing the candidates to talk to eachtother and claiming why each one is better than the other.

When moderators ask either side a biased question, it only swerves the debate in a less illuminating direction for the rest of us.
