I wear a mask because I don't want people getting angry at me and threatening me with violence or worse, character assassination

I have a prepackaged solution for you

Tell them you can't wear a mask, because your are concealed carry.

Follow up with, "wouldn't you agree that it would be irresponsible to carry a concealed firearm and wear a mask?"

Edit:

If character assassination is a concern, then consider purchasing a wig, and a matching mustache/beard.

That's why I wear both masks, the physical and metaphorical one!

I honestly just don't give a fuck, and don't have the time or energy to fight with the social justice police. Especially in public.

Spreading truth is also a form of protest. You're not going to convince anyone of anything by not wearing your mask and having a shouting match with a Karen who's laying on the hood of your car as you try to leave because she's calling the police to report you.

Exactly. And half the time my mask is not covering shit. I don't wear a "mask", I wear a bandana, and just let it slip down when I'm not close to anyone. If someone gives me a dirty look, or says something, I'll fix it. But its not worth the verbal exchanges and potential for violence to just forgo one completely. I did hold out as long as possible, and I take it off as soon as I start walking out, or at work as soon as I get outside. Although someone at work told me I had to wear it outside. I said yeah thats not happening. I work in a cleanroom so I literally have a mask on already 75% of my day, I'm not wearing one in the brief 4 minute walk from one door to another when I cross paths with nobody. I'm waiting for a write up and then I'm talking to a lawyer.
