Lockdown and masks are the same issue.

Framing it in any other way is ignorant at best, nefarious otherwise.

The CDC just released data showing that 80-85% of some infected individuals wore a mask and yet still got sick. That's just for this pandemic, and ignores the long historical datas that clearly show masks are ineffective, but it's 2020 and orange man bad so fuck science.

As was written up by several scientific authors recently, masks "are largely talismans". Think of them as armbands that let you go where you wanna go, since it doesn't sound like you mind wearing them.

I wear a mask because I don't want people getting angry at me and threatening me with violence or worse, character assassination

I have a prepackaged solution for you

Tell them you can't wear a mask, because your are concealed carry.

Follow up with, "wouldn't you agree that it would be irresponsible to carry a concealed firearm and wear a mask?"

Edit:

If character assassination is a concern, then consider purchasing a wig, and a matching mustache/beard.

That's why I wear both masks, the physical and metaphorical one!

I honestly just don't give a fuck, and don't have the time or energy to fight with the social justice police. Especially in public.

Spreading truth is also a form of protest. You're not going to convince anyone of anything by not wearing your mask and having a shouting match with a Karen who's laying on the hood of your car as you try to leave because she's calling the police to report you.

Exactly. And half the time my mask is not covering shit. I don't wear a "mask", I wear a bandana, and just let it slip down when I'm not close to anyone. If someone gives me a dirty look, or says something, I'll fix it. But its not worth the verbal exchanges and potential for violence to just forgo one completely. I did hold out as long as possible, and I take it off as soon as I start walking out, or at work as soon as I get outside. Although someone at work told me I had to wear it outside. I said yeah thats not happening. I work in a cleanroom so I literally have a mask on already 75% of my day, I'm not wearing one in the brief 4 minute walk from one door to another when I cross paths with nobody. I'm waiting for a write up and then I'm talking to a lawyer.

Most of us already contracted it and mistook it for being a bad strep throat, or a flu. Because it's basically just that.

Show me pictures of these "nearly completely wiped out nursing homes". Prove to me that they actually died of covid-19, and not some other virus. Prove to me that the tests are trustworthy, and the data, uncorrupted. Even then, I'll have doubts, due to my experience, and the experiences of many others.

Over half of the nursing homes in my state have had "outbreaks of covid" and guess what, NONE of them are empty, NONE of them led to multiple deaths, NONE of them led to infected workers. This is the experience of many people these days, that's why no one believes this shit. If it's so fucking dangerous then the homeless in our cities should be dead in the alleys, our nursing homes should be "nearly completely wiped out" like you say, and everyone should know someone close to them who's either gotten it or died from it.

That's a real pandemic. Not this, where the media and people like you claim a bunch of horseshit which barely fits the evidence at hand. Other conclusions match the evidence at hand even better, and they match my experience, and the experience of many others.

If what you are saying is true, then my 88 year old great grandma should be dead, along with my asthma-filled family, because I've never once worn a mask, and we have been in contact since the beginning. They should be sick, or dead.

So, you bring up Italy, one country? Not very convincing. I also don't believe any of that bullshit about extra side effects. Its much more likely that they are sick with something, or somethings, that causes all of their symptoms, not covid.

My family is lucky, sure. And so is the family of every person I know. And every person they know.

The only people I've heard of in real life dying to this have been some of the most out of shape, disgusting individuals. A bad case of pneumonia would've killed them if they were misdiagnosed and mistreated. And don't try to say that this doesn't occur, case in point, I've been misdiagnosed for something as simple as an ear infection. They told me I had cancer for two months, and I almost died. This is occuring on a global scale now. Faulty tests give faulty results, people get treated for a disease they don't even have, and they die. Surprise surprise.

Thank you for the good luck wishes, though. Very kind of you. Good luck as well, soon enough you'll realize we have more to worry about than seasonal viruses. When that happens, folks like you will need all the luck in the world, it'll be quite the rude awakening, I'm sure.

"Aaand don't forget folks, if you don't wear a mask and get a vaccine, your grandma will die, then it'll be all your fault!"

Edit: Sweden is doing it wrong. They should've told everybody that the world was crazy and that things are normal, because they are. Why would I trust these things when I can use my eyes and walk around my state to see if what the media says is true? If what they are saying is true, then I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN SICK, I would have spread it to my "at-risk" family months ago. It's not a matter of luck.

        Italy was a hoax
