last year I paid more taxes than both jeff bezos and the president of the united states combined. I run an etsy store for a living. but please, don’t you dare raise tax rates for the wealthy so that the rest of the country can have healthcare. that would just be absolutely insane.

The problem isn't tax rates, it's legal tax breaks. We need to repeal the entire tax code, and enforce a flat rate for everyone.

Socializing healthcare will only make it more expensive and slower for everyone. The US has the best healthcare system in the world. Don't let the government ruin that too.

Yeah, for real! Our doctors tend to prescribe pills for everything, and downplay what you are feeling as "in your head" and unless you can fucking PROVE to them that you are hurt or sick or whatever, they tend to not care. The ones that do care will tell you it's a shitty system to work under.

Medical tourism is a means for poor people, not rich people, to get the medical care they need. Bill Gates isn't flying to Asia to get heart surgery.

Poor people can walk into any hospital in this country and receive immediate care. They only send the bill later..

You know, I would really like to be poor enough to fly to Asia and pay for surgery out of pocket.. Seriously. What reality do you live in?

Well, you have to be rich enough to afford to travel, but poor enough to not afford a $10000+ medical bill. These are surgeries for conditions that are not emergencies. If you're going to die tomorrow, of course, go to the ER.
