You people who think that our allies didn't tell us to go to hell a long time ago.

53% of Germans would not intervene to protect a NATO ally. http://www.pewglobal.org/2017/05/23/natos-image-improves-on-both-sides-of-atlantic/pg_2017-05-23-nato-00-06/

NATO’s European Allies Won’t Fight for Article 5. A median of 49 percent of respondents thought their country should not defend an ally. BUT: the majority of Europeans (67 percent) believed the United States must spring to the defense of its allies. What assholes. You maybe see what Trump was talking about now, and what you people have apparently never been exposed to?

Why would our NATO allies do anything for the US when all the US does in interfere in everyone else's business? The US is the laughingstock of the world thanks to the incompetent IMPOTUS.

They'd do something for us because we pay for their defense (ruinously expensive) and have kept the peace in Europe for 75 years, the longest peace ever in European history.

The US is the laughingstock of the world

You're really, really ignorant. I say this without anger, in the base meaning of lacking knowledge. Go ask some Europeans what they think about NATO. They'll tell you exactly what I told you: Yankee go home. They're frightened of a war against Russia, which Biden very well may start. Russia is a nuclear power, by the way.

Trump can assassinate Soleimani, and change the story how many times, but that's ok? Bush started a war with the wrong country over 9/11.

But you don't want to see it. Your whole identity is wrapped up in supporting Trump.

You're not engaging with any of my ideas. You're just going on with some script in your head, where I'm saying things I'm not saying.

Europeans despise American troops and want them gone. They're petrified of war with Russia. They think it's far better to economically engage, that will lead Russia to be peaceful. Agree or disagree? Engage, dammit!

Very doubtful Russia will ever be peaceful.

That's the American viewpoint! I'm talking about the Europeans! You know, the ones who want us out of Europe?

Do you even know what Nordstream 2 is? If Russia is such a threat, why are they doing it?

You don't, do you?

The we should get out. Let them worry about their problems. How would I know why they're doing it? I'm not a politician.

But...you just said we're abandoning our allies. Did I persuade you? Wow, that's pretty rare. Good talking to you.

One parting favor? Give this a quick read and let me know what you think? https://zeihan.com/the-2020-elections-and-beyond/

"And so I put Trump into the same basket as Obama: leaders who left the country worse than they found it" But no examples where given save enforceable (successful) trade agreements and unenforceable bilateral agreements that fell apart (with communists like China and North Korea). But success plus status quo is not failure. Yes Trump should have been more extreme and less moderate, but that's another question all together.

Yes senators suck as presidents. The Obama criticisms over secrecy and direct micromanagement were spot on. Remember when he promised to be the most transparent administration in history? Pepperridge Farm remembers. People can complain all they want, but we know exactly what Trump thinks and is up to.

"I had the opportunity to meet Biden shortly after the Obama administration ended and my first thought was 'Wow. He might…he might have dementia. It’s a good thing he didn’t run for president.'" Oof. "I want my president to be able to handle a crisis. And foreign leaders. And the press corps. And a phone call. Due to his disposition, Trump has repeatedly demonstrated he cannot do these things well." Like what? Remember the declassified (transparency again!) call with Ukraine? That was fine. Getting the (now comatose) leader of North Korea past the DMZ was not good enough? Finally showing the American people that the media is not to be trusted is not handling the press corps? I beg to differ. I don't see the failure and unfortunately the author doesn't tell us. That's suspicious, maybe he will explain further.

"President Trump’s seemingly deliberate and always callous mismanagement of the coronavirus crisis has contributed to the death of 200,000 Americans." Like the "racist" travel bans (but again Trump stood up to the media, on behalf the country), or the PPE mobilization or the economic recovery bills or ... I don't know what he's getting at other than giving very vague and obtuse numbers. No mention of the fact that that 200k number includes people who committed suicide? No 6% non-comorbidity stat which would put the Wuhan flu as just twice as bad as a normal flu?

"Forget the CDC and the WHO." No! "All Trump needed to do to mitigate the risk was say something like 'wear a mask, maintain some distance, and look in on your loved ones'." Check, check and check. Plus task forces and press conferences. Or was I the only one who watched them to stay informed??

"And so Trump will lose and he will lose big. Assuming, that is, Biden can prove he still has some marbles." Alright well I suppose I'll come back to this if A) Biden doesn't implode and B) Trump loses. Yawn.
