traditional chinese medicine. If you have a cough you need to balance your elemental flow by eating uncooked foods.

Is there data on this? I really need to know, because that's what I've been expecting and it'd be interesting to see that play out.

He's talking about high school aged people. They generally do not die from corona to begin with; I don't think corona deaths ever outweighed suicide deaths in that populatiom so it's basically non-news.

People generally don't die from corona to begin with.

People generally don't die from suicide to begin with. About 100~150 deaths from suicide per day compared to coronas 1000+ (usa)

    [–]madcow-5 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

I'm incredibly skeptical of those numbers. First, it's less than 1000/day, by the numbers reported, but also anyone who dies and tests positive for corona is being counted as a corona death, even though they didn't die of it. There're a million and one ways to manipulate the data. In the end, it's looking like about as many people have died of COVID19 this year that died of the flu in 2018.

    [–]alkhd 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

0.75% of the population (2.5mil active cases/330mil total population) currently make up for 15% of deaths (1169 corona deaths /7670 total deaths) .

0.75% of the population should only make up for 0.75% of deaths (ie 58 deaths/day)

Aren't the people in power corona-deniers in usa, why would they manipulate numbers in a direction to make themselves look bad?

    [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

They aren't corona-deniers. You are falling for psychological warfare. Read Prince by Machiavelli.

    [–]alkhd 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

So are 0.75% of the population not responsible for 15% of deaths? Sounds a lot like denying to me.

I'm not from US. My country publishes death stats with cause of death. There's one number that counts all deaths by people who tested positive with corona in the last 28 days and one number that counts people whose actual cause of death was corona. These 2 numbers differ very little (~5%). Comparing excess deaths this year versus precis years also show an excess by roughly the stated number of covid deaths.

I guess the whole world is just making shit up because everything revolves around the Republican party and making them look bad. Countries sacrifice a good chunk of their gdp for this reason. You guys are pretty much the only people in dispute.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Not a republican. I hate the political parties. If you think there aren't doctors who dispute this shit, please spend some time online looking for information you seem to ignore. I understand all of what you are saying. I doubt for even one second that you understand what we are saying. You just gobble up a bunch of confusing shit. This isn't a pandemic. If it were, us anti-maskers WOULD BE SICK. If this were a real pandemic, the American homeless would line the streets, and entire churches, schools, and companies would explode with cases. That never happened, because this isn't a real pandemic. People are getting misdiagnosed (I know doctors who are upset about this) and death reports are being falsified (I know a single coroner who quit his job because of this). If you think there isn't contention on this issue, then look into doctors from Germany, Spain, Sweden, and Canada. There are tons of doctors in those places who have gotten on the TV at least once trying to say the truth. They don't get invited back, not because they lie, but because they challenge the media and their handlers.

I'm the only one here who have provided any information lol. Not everyone who doesn't wear a mask gets coronavirus and not everyone who has coronavirus dies. You're one of the "lucky" 99% who didn't get coronavirus - congratulations.

I don't gobble up confusing shit, do you literally not understand how percentages work? active cases make up 0.75% of the population yet they make up for 15% of deaths. This is to refute: "also anyone who dies and tests positive for corona is being counted as a corona death". Logically 0.75% of the population would make up for 0.75% of deaths, not 15%. Doctors do not misdiagnose - they take a fucking test and the test show either negative or positive.

In Sweden we can look at excessive deaths this year versus other years, it will show that roughly 5000 people more have died this year during the period corona was active compared to other years (roughly 2000-2100 people died per week instead of 1600, for 12-13 weeks). Lining up almost perfectly with corona statistics reported here. Even if people are being misdiagnosed as you are saying, there's still 5000 extra deaths, unless you want to deny that 5000 people died over here and they're just made up names. (5000 might not sound like a lot but we're a small country, 1/30 the population of US, so about 150k deaths if scaled up to US population).

The other guy was trying to say that the numbers are wrong - maybe you are just trying to say that the bad people on TV are saying it's worse than it really is and that not that many people are ultimately getting sick/dying. If it's the latter then fine - in your opinion it might not be so bad and in the long history of the world a million or a few million out of 7 billion people dying is not that serious, it's still people dying though, people with families etc.

He's specifically talking about high school students there. And yeah, it's not terribly dangerous for minors.

In Japan there have been exactly zero deaths of a person eighteen or under that was attributed to Cough-19.

That's all I hear on my local scanner as of late: shootings, car thefts, overdoses, suicidal people who need intervention and drunk drivers.

Seeing your work friends was about the only thing people were living for. Take it away, and what's the use.
