Personally, I think that is a great idea. BUT, it would take a major re-structuring of our society and culture before that would be feasible. The reality is that our culture does not value children. It's a long and complex discussion, but the quick TLDR is that in most families both parents have to work and there just isn't enough time or energy at the end of a long work day to invest in the kids. Last semester I spent 6 hours a day, every school day, doing homeschool. Most of the other families in his class could not invest that time in their kids, instead, the kids played video games all day long.
