Do they actually test the blood before they use it? If not this was irresponsible on your part if you had random sex with strangers recently.

I don’t necessarily agree with a blanket ban of gays when donating blood, but it does warrant additional testing.

EDIT: Also, I’m half Jewish, so my criticism of you isn’t coming from a place of antisemitism.

They wouldn't know which tests to run without the proper information

They run the same tests on all the blood.

Question is ... which tests? Do they at least do an HIV antibody and/or antigen screen?

I knew it would be easy to find because I did my research before donating. I wanted to know what it would mean if they accepted my blood, i.e. what tests had to come back negative.
