So stupid. That's like Americans saying during the cold war that we had the freedom of political opinion and yet if you were a communist you would loose your job and starve to death because noone would hire you. That's like christians saying you have the freedom to act good or bad in the world but if you act bad you are sent to eternal pain and punishment in hell. That is no freedom. Assange was not free to leave the embassy because he would have been immediately arrested if he had stood foot outside (let me explain this very slowly and clearly: Arrested = not free)

One is not free to do something if they will be immediately incarcerated if they do it. The press is clearly not free if when they publish true information they are immediately hunted down and tortured and given a secret trial and life imprisonment.
