Other states have had buying restrictions for a long time, and they haven't been struck down. The 2A is the one right courts are loathe to protect, for whatever reason. There has been a stark erosion of 2A rights going back to the the NFA in the 30s, and courts have largely upheld them.

Unfortunately, it seems citizens are the ones who are ultimately going to be responsible for upholding their rights to defend themselves. Hopefully that doesn't get ugly.
