So doesn't that disprove the Khazar hypothesis, as Jews don't have a significant Central Asian(which is what the Khazars are widely accepted as) linked Y-DNA?

It does to an extent but other studies disprove this study. So, there's much confusion. But it seems that they came from Armenia and Turkey regions. Armenia is fairly close to the Pale of Settlement.
