At a certain point, there may have to be federal intervention to protect civil rights. Evidently, the state and local authorities aren't willing to do it. This would be similar to what Ike through LBJ did when state and local authorities stood by while civil rights were being violated.

Why? Politically it serves the right making the left look bad.

For the left it's better to leave it and bait the right in to intervening making them look authoritarian.

Trump doesn't care enough to address this, and he doesn't have the strength of will purr the spine to actually do anything about it.

If he wanted to mock it, every press conference he should be demanding the governor and the mayor negotiate with the city-state of CHAZ and begin trade and diplomacy negotiations for the newest country within the united states.

The left isn't looking bad. They look heroic. This is social justice, white male oppressors finally getting what's coming to them.
