I live in Chicago. 20 years ago the big grievance from the black community was that they had to suffer at the hands of criminals because they did not receive adequate police services. This was called oppression. They blamed the crime rates on lack of policing. They blamed the deaths of innocent victims of gang shootings on lack of policing. So the city increased police presence in high crime neighborhoods. Now they blame over policing. There is no winning.

People who can afford it will have private security. Gated communities will spring up everywhere. And the narrative will be, once again, that it is a racist system designed to hold down black people.

Well they're not wrong.

It's a racist system
Created by black people
Designed to hold down people
That can't afford to protect themselves.

Or can't steal/black market guns
