The outgoing administration were responsible for the overthrow of Gaddafi which lead directly to the European migrant crisis. They had to get Hillary Clinton into the White House to protect themselves. So they used all the tools at their disposal, mass surveillance, astroturfing, media assets, alphabet agency assets, lobbyists etc.

But Wikileaks threw a spanner in the works. The administration knew John Podesta - Bill Clinton, Obama and now Hillary's fixer - was a sicko, so the release of his emails threw them off guard. They went full retard. The population noticed. Plus Trump went around the media matrix by holding rallies and Cambridge Analytica showed the skeptic demographic how the Democrats, since the 1990's, had facilitated the creation of too big to fail banks, and too crooked to be believed media.

The situation is like Iran-Contra times a thousand and Watergate times a million.
