I lean right myself, but your opponents’ mental health is not really a valid criticism. Focus on objecting to ideas and analyzing policy, instead of this BS.

Well said!

Agreed. We should have empathy for our political opponents. The best way to convert them to our side is to try and appeal to their sense of reason, not own them for whatever their issues may be.

And that's mostly true in a perfect world, attacking the messenger is a loser's strategy. Though to play the devils advocate, would you trust as much the statements of a mentally ill person, or someone prone to emotional hysterics as much as you would someone who is stable and collected? Some doubts arise.

i disagree, we have the truth on our side, not lies, misinformation and hate, its been proven that religious fundamentalism causes brain damage, and right wingers are FAR more likely to believe in fake news, and facebook complained that if they took down fake news, that would disproportionately affect the right wing

    [–]JasonCarswellVoluntaryist 6 insightful - 4 fun6 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 4 fun -  (36 children)

You do the left no favours by using poor grammar, no punctuation, and lacking refuting citations.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Yours isn't special without proper seduction.

I want more voices on SaidIt refuting all the brainwashed anti-"commie" shit, but your's is not good nor helpful.

Shape up or shut up or keep firing off nonsense to the right that doesn't help your cause.

Also, FYI, the left and right are bullshit dellusions to control the masses with the Hegelian dialectic.

I have a hard time believing "Rightykiller" is a centrist. Please provide some examples to support your statement that the right is full of shit.

they believe lies, no matter how any times their crap is debunked somehow it makes it more true, whenever someone on the left does something bad yall just ignore it or claim they dont represent you, but when someone on the left does something bad you claim "see the left is bad", most stances that the right holds is "because da bibul sez so" like the hate on gays, and abortion (even tho the bible endorses abortion in numbers 5; 11-31)

You have still not presented anything concrete for proof. Everything you've said is simply opinion. You are inadvertently starting to prove OP's post.

Also, that was a feeble attempt at interpreting the Old Testament and is very telling of your overall mental state. The Numbers reference no where mentions that the woman was pregnant. Interpreting ancient manuscripts can lead to many different conclusions....if you ever looked into those things. Besides, the Bible is not an exclusive right wing thing anyway.

    [–]rightykiller 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (20 children)

look at this entire website, you guys NEED your own escape from reality, "that was a feeble attempt at interpreting the Old Testament and is very telling of your overall mental state. The Numbers reference no where mentions that the woman was pregnant" read it "21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the Lord cause you to become a curse[b] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”" womb miscarries, what does that mean to you?

    [–]Penelope 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (19 children)

You are quoting the newer interpretation from the NIV version of the Bible which was a more colloquial translation of the original text of the King James version of the Bible which is seen to be the authority over the NIV. If you will now open your King James version, you will notice that the passage you quote nowhere says anything about pregnancy, but instead is referring to whether the wife was adulterous.

I'm not a Bible promoter, and this is pretty low energy effort on your part. You should know this stuff before you state your opinions.

    [–]rightykiller 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

LOL very convenient, make a million interpretations, thats why the bible is flawed, whos to say what bible is the REAL one?

    Everyone worships.

You might try to objectively think about why you attack and defend with such fervor instead of refuting the content or their points.

If you study ancient manuscripts you would realize that many things get lost in translation. And perhaps there are many removed parts that are not included in what we call the Bible.

Though you have sidetracked your original premise by pontificating on how you think the Christian God endorses Infanticide. You have neglected to support your premise that Right wing people are more prone to be full of "shit". Like most people, some are, some are not. Through experience I've found left leaning people tend to have a more dubious grasp on reality.

For example, we learned via the Covid scare that it only recognizes two genders. Where is the outrage toward this shameless patriarchal misgendering virus?

    [–]JasonCarswellVoluntaryist 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

This is not an exclusive club. Everyone does it. Including you, without proving anything with citations.

    [–]rightykiller 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

i guess i cant disagree with that, i show 20 links...they claim its fake news or isnt peer reviewed, penelope is clearly angry with me yet wont leave me alone

    [–]Penelope 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

You're point was that Right leaning people are more full of shit. I stated that in your own words to bring concrete proof of this. Instead you spammed debatable links from questionable sites such as Salon and Snopes and some other obscure sites.

I cited the common left leaning viewpoint that there are more than two genders to proffer that the left tends to believe in dubious claims more often than not.

You don't understand what peer reviewed means and you have still failed to grasp the importance of refraining from Tu Qoque to attempt to advance your argument.

You can't let others do your thinking for you. Citing a credible source can help your point but spamming walls of links thinking it's going to solidify your stance is lazy at least and paints the picture that you're incapable of critical thinking.

    [–]JasonCarswellVoluntaryist 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Some folks you need to ignore to remain sane.

Some folks often have excellent points worth learning from, whether you align with them or not.

The wisdom is knowing the difference.

    [–]Hellothereawesome 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (15 children)

Well they are less in denial when it comes to US' disastrous foreign policy and the racism that is horrible in the US.... Sure they aren't good when it comes to gun rights and economic accountability but at least they see through some of the murder and the evil. Not in denial like the MAGA people.

    [–]RickC-137[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

Racism is horrible because YOU, YOURSELVES make it an issue and make it "horrible".

It's not a problem for me, or my friends.

    [–]Hellothereawesome 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (13 children)

racism that is horrible in the US and it is taught beginning in highschool and middle school. People don't "make it" horrible it IS horrible :). That's good that you don't have issues with it.

    [–]RickC-137[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

Socialized by liberals in liberal controlled schools. The people that point the fingers are guilty of it.

It's almost like it is being stirred up by (((them))).

    [–]Hellothereawesome 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (11 children)

It's not right to generalize (if that is what youre doing) that everyone who points the finger at the issues of racism in the US are themselves guilty of racism. That is not true.

    [–]RickC-137[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

No, but it's a good indicator. If it's their obsession, they infuse it into everything to sow discord.

    [–]Hellothereawesome 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

Many things may be indicators of various characteristics, but that doesn't mean it's for sure. You have to give the benefit of the doubt to people in these instances. Racism is a big issue in the US and so it can be applied in many areas from police brutality, to the public schooling system to health care... Considering it's long and sordid history, it would have to be applied broadly, and it should not be causing any discord in the population to simply speak the truth. That is, unless certain groups are unwelcoming of hearing the truth, in which case that is their problem, and not that of the truth teller, per se.

    [–]RickC-137[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Racism thrives in liberal dystopias. That's why its a big problem. It thrives because it is frowned upon to step outside of the social and political norms that are enforced for the sake of the government and to ensure government dependency.

Racism is used as a weapon against the left's political opponents, which of whom, mostly, are not racist at all. Most "racism" today is nothing more than a political and social weapon. It is used especially against black people that step outside of their political and social role that is forced on them by the left..

    [–]Hellothereawesome 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

It IS frowned upon, but just because something immoral is frowned upon that doesn't mean the people should do that immoral act. It is immoral, afterall. Racism is wrong morally, the left uses other things that are, in fact, not immoral, to attack other people. But because racism is immoral it is ok for it to be used as a weapon, so long as the person using it as a weapon isn't racism himself. It is used against black people and I agree with that. It can be used to tell black people to BE racist in RESPONSE to racism, but again, being racist is immoral, and they should know better.

    [–]RickC-137[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

That's just wrong. The left uses it against all white people in general and that's just plain bullshit. They use it as a weapon against white people politically when they have no inherent racism.

I'd be willing to bet that there would be absolutely no racism if it weren't for the left perpetuating it and instigating it.

When black people become politically right they get viscous attacked by the left because they aren't their political house slaves anymore.
