Yeah, it is impossible to know if the "shut downs" are actually doing any good. However, it is worth a shot. And to the extent that it doesn't work you first have to blame all the retards that ignore it. At the end of the day we have a lower average IQ. What that means effectively is that we have a lot of stupid people running around undermining everything the smarter people try to do. You can clearly see that the places in the US that are hit the hardest are inner cities, where stupid people like to concentrate.

"worth a shot" = 2+ trillion dollars and economy wrecked, jobs lost, people wrecked

oh, I would say that is an optimistic summation of the situation. This bailout is just getting started and so is the recession. The economic collapse is not a natural result of the corona response but a natural result of decades of Federal Reserve monetary policy, and the inherent nature of the stock market; which is a ponzie scheme that vacuums up everyone's retirement savings. People were going to get wrecked no matter what.
