Three key provisions of the USA Patriot Act, which give the Trump administration broad surveillance powers, are set to expire on March 15 unless Congress votes to reauthorize them. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the only leading democratic presidential candidate in Congress who is publicly opposing them.

“I voted against the Patriot Act in 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2015. I strongly oppose its reauthorization next month,” he tweeted on February 11.

He's right. We don't need it anymore. We haven't needed it in over a decade. It hasn't helped us at all. It's time we got rid of it. Even he realizes that it's done nothing. Bernie will be one of the very few to vote against its reauthorization next month.

We didn't need it after 9/11 either, it was all based on damn dirty lies.

It was a knee-jerk reaction made during a time of panic when the public was scared.

The sky was falling all around us.

We didn't know who did it. Conspiracy? All we knew was the world looked like it was ending.

Only after dust settled did we realize the politicians had seized the moment to infringe upon our rights. That the "Patriot Act" was anything but.

We have the privilege to look back on 20 years worth of information. Hindsight is 20/20.

1000% conspiracy, it was engineered and executed nearly perfectly.

The Patriot attack was shoehorned through Congress after the anthrax attacks.

The "Ames stain" weaponized version that certainly wasn't created in a mythical cave fortress.

It was the successive psychic blow that tipped the scales toward fear and away from freedom.

My gut feeling tells me something similar is being cooked up with the COVID PsyOp.

IIRC, Ole Dammegard mentioned on a podcast that an estimated of 2 million Chinese people die annually from pneumonia.

If reported (and true?) that statistic could be misreported as the Corona virus fallout, which would create mass panic and the fools would demand mandatory vaccinations.
Those who accepted this would probably dramatically shorten their own lifespans.

TPTB aren't idiots who would accidentally kill themselves by releasing a Pandora's box superbug that spirals out of control. That's crazy AF.

They would like to have the frightened sheep line up for their own extermination injections.
This would also be easier to self-justify.

IMHO.

Yep, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if Coronavirus turned out to be the old problem-reaction-solution plan at work. Or maybe they have also engineered their own vaccine for it, and it's time for our culling.

This is always the side effect of big government. It's always difficult to dismantle bureaucracies. I wish Sanders knew that lesson.

Sanders still believes it can be fixed from the inside. Despite his age he's still got a childlike optimism that anything is possible through the proper channels. A little delusional, yet it's what the country needs to see right now.

We've never really seen Bernie angry. We've seen him disappointed, happy, determined, but we have never seen him truly angry.

“There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.”

He sure looked angry while he was up on stage endorsing Hillary for president. After she cheated him out of the nomination.

Oh wait he didn't look angry, he had a smile on his face.

I will bet anyone here 100 bux he doesn't end up being Dems candidate vs Trump(>seriously).

What's the difference between Bernie and a folding chair?

A folding chair can be used outside DNC venues and comes in more colors than red.

Trump is going to get another 4 years. Pete doesn't have what it takes.

Might as well waste my vote on Bernie. I really hope he stays in the race after the dems fuck'em over again. Trump will win by a mile and the DNC will lose their minds.

If Bernie runs as an independent, Trumps might win all 50 states. God, it would be so, so sweet to watch him win California.

[–]AnarchySpeach[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It would be beautiful.

[–]Chipit 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

That's what they said about Hillary. Don't get cocky. The Dems are going to pull every dirty trick in the book, illegal aliens voting, voter fraud, mail fraud, it doesn't matter. They're corrupt, we know that already. They rigged the nomination in favor of Hillary and the debate moderator leaked the questions to the Democrats before the debate.

[–]AnarchySpeach[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Bernie is enough of an outsider to the dems that it could work in his favor if he plays his cards right.

[–]Chipit 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

They already cheated him once and in punishment, he endorsed the cheater on stage with a big smile.

[–]AnarchySpeach[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

He did they said and it still bit'em in the ass. This is his last chance to save face. If the DMC picks someone else, and he backs down, he goes down in history as the weird old socialist who failed to communitize America.

he endorsed the cheater on stage with a big smile.

Unlike Trump, Bernie is a politician. Some dignity is sacrificed as a result... Unless you're Trump, who has zero shame to start with, in which case idkwtf to think. Trump basically re-wrote the book.

Is there anyone else?

I'm very curious to see how a Sanders vs Trump matchup will play out.

[–]Chipit 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

It's the worst possible outcome. Lose-lose for the establishment. They will do anything to avoid this. They already rigged the nomination once, they'll do it again.

It's going to be Bloomberg the Jew vs. Trump.

[–]AnarchySpeach[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Lose-lose for the establishment.

Isn't it always? The days of JFK are long over.

[–]Chipit 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

They usually get win-win. Like Hillary vs. Jeb. Or Romney vs. Obama. Or Bush vs. Kerry. No matter who wins, they win. It's how they do business. But Trump ruined the whole thing, and now Sanders is threatening to completely upset the apple cart.

[–]AnarchySpeach[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

One crazy earns a crazy.

Trump is playing by a different set of rules. People like Bernie that appear are the other extreme to balance the swinging pendulum.

"Grab'em by the pussy." That would've sank Obama. Would've ended Jeb, Romney, but Bernie? His followers are so fanatic how do you think they would've reacted had he said the same thing? Most wouldn't care.

That's the insanity of the world we're living in right now. There's no going back.

[–]Chipit 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

No it wouldn't. Obama did so much worse shit than that and people still love him. He dropped 200,000 bombs killing and maiming tens of thousands of women and children. Remember when he bombed a Doctors Without Borders hospital and sent gunners in to kill the fleeing nurses and patients?

https://www.msf.org/kunduz-hospital-attack

The attacks took place despite the fact that MSF had provided the GPS coordinates of the trauma hospital to the US Department of Defense, Afghan Ministry of Interior and Defense and US Army in Kabul as recently as Tuesday, 29 September. The attack continued for more than 30 minutes after we first informed Resolute Support and US military officials in Kabul and Washington that it was a hospital being hit.

Despite what the American media told you he was not well liked abroad. You will notice during his last term he would often not be greeted by a senior delegation when visiting foreign countries, this was due to the hospital bombing. One of the most shocking events of the 21st century.

And people still love him.

[–]AnarchySpeach[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Well fuck. That media blackout worked on me. I never heard of it. Shit.

[–]Chipit 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was huge news...but Obama supporting media reported it quickly and it went away. In the conservative and foreign spheres, they wouldn't stop talking about it. It was outrageous. Conservatives because to them, the US military is honorable and doesn't bomb hospitals, and for foreigners, it was because it confirmed everything they already know about the evil baby-killing US military.

But OMG some locker room talk and the world goes apeshit. Shows how screwed up everyone's priorities are. One of "our" people mass murders, better not mention it. One of "them" makes an off-color comment and it means they're horrible people. Hell, Bill Clinton straight up raped a woman in the Oval Office and people still support his wife who threatened his rape victims. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgFha2zOsJk

Shows how screwed up everyone's priorities are.

It is getting quite bizarre nowadays.
