Hate to be bearer of bad news here: If enough people support Bernie more than a few of them are going to be criminals based on luck and numbers alone. Same for every candidate. That sticker on his bike could've said Trump and it wouldn't have changed anything. The number of people involved in supporting someone popular is a big number, with lots of people in it, and some aren't going to be great people.

It's why I hate listening to statistics. Technically something like this was inevitable.

True, it's a good point that a large enough population will have assholes in them.

It's not the 1st time that stuff like that surfaces, including with people who appear to hold some positions of responsibility in the Bernie's campaign, I have so far not seen Bernie address it (if there's any statement by him I'd like to see it) . By no means I expect Bernie to have a 100% background check on everyone working for him, but when those things happen I'd expect him or someone on his staff to act in a way that shows (fire them at least) they don't want/support political violence.

Edit: Almost forgot to mention, there's also the difference in media treatment, I just remember the Convington affair and the response to both cases is disproportionate different.

could be a hoax. Either hired by repubs or DNC to make bernie look bad. Low IQ mentally addled guy given bernie stickers for his bike and told what to do. Do it obviously on video, someone was holding the camera so ready to film. Tried to set place on fire but conveniently failed. Getting released from jail so quick is suspicious. At first I supported this but looked more into it and it;s suspicious.
